It’s 65 and sunny. Spring Training games are being played 30 minutes away. The garden is waking up. Here are things your garden shouldn’t be without:
The above is a rosemary bush. It was bought at the garden department of a Home Depot about 8 years ago and stuck in the ground. It has been through many an Arizona summer and also freezing temperatures and still looks great. The added bonus is that you always have a sprig of fresh rosemary when you want it but you have to take it off the top because Kenzie does leg lifts on it.
Then you need some aloe vera like above. I don’t know if this will grow in your area, but if it does, it is really useful. For burns and scrapes, just go outside and cut off a leaf, squeeze it and let the gel go on the injury. Get it as soon as you can after the problem occurs and it is a miracle.
Of course no garden would be complete without a garden gnome. None of us have the heart to tell Kenzie that the turf he is protecting is of the “Astro” variety.
No real grass to pee on, well that sand is like living in one huge litter box for one really big cat!

Maybe that’s why we sometimes get bobcats in the yard. They have to jump a six foot high block fence. The urge to make MY yard a litter box is tremendous but They won’t let me out when a cat or coyote is there. The cats can poo in MY yard with impunity!
Our garden doesn’t have either of those, but if they grow without much nurturing, we should get them.

Is Kenzie pretending to be a garden gnome?
There are times when I think a garden gnome is smarter! We wonder about Kenzie.
We, too, have rosemary and thyme and parsley and sage…sounds like a song. But no aloe. Uh oh….I’m afraid I’ve peed on my rosemary but didn’t tell Her. Yikes.
Kenzie and I make good gnomes.

PS Where’d you go Kyla. You’re not in these fotos. ???? But it was nice of you to show Us Kenzie.
Kenzie was “gnoming” and I had to take the pix.
