I was right all along!

This morning started out normally (for me). I have Addison’s Disease and I need a shot every 25 days to live. It’s really not too bad for me since I get treats after and I’m getting used to it. So I piled into the Scottiemobile and was ready to go.

It’s 12 miles to Anthem and Doctor Cohen’s. We parked the Scottiemobile and He took me around to piddle. If he doesn’t do that, I do it on the scale when they weigh me.

After piddling, I went in and, of course, went right to the pet FOOD section.

I wasn’t allowed to open those “presents”, so I proceeded to the front where the treat jar is located. Sitting up and begging only resulted in one treat. I know, I know-I have to go through the pain to get the gain.

It was time to be weighed.

I was good and didn’t piddle. What was surprising was that I was only 9.8 kg instead of the 10.8 just 25 days ago. That’s over 2 pounds lost in less than a month. Doc Cohen came out and talked to Him. We should have been outta there by now with no charge. They ordered up a bunch of tests and blood work. I went back in and got poked again. The results won’t be known for a few days. Doc said to increase my rations by 10%. YIPPEE-more food. Doc said I was a skinny Scottie and we’ll see how that goes. I know how it will go, I’m inhaling all the extra food. He knew She wouldn’t believe it so He had the Doc write up a prescription to increase my food. She can’t refuse.

I am worried about the test results, though. He tattled told the Doc that yesterday morning I was shivering and cowering but they gave me a stress pill and I was OK. We’ll find out soon, Paws crossed.

We came home later than expected and the wallet suffered over a $300 hit. He told me it was cheaper when I just ate the stuff.

I was right all along-I need more food.

  1. Oh My Kyla we don’t like to hear you are becoming less and less in your sumptuous appearance. 9.8kg is about 21.6 pounds I figure. They need to feed you some steak. Maybe you are getting to big of a shot or need it more often. We will cross our paws hoping the test results will tell them what to do.
The Scot who lived here before me had to much ACTH and you have a deficiency of ACTH.
My weight is less than your weight, I am a small Scot, I weight 19 pounds. I need to be small so my front deformed legs can carry my weight.

    Sweet William The Scot

    • You don’t have deformed legs, just some blog readers with deformed minds. Whatever it is, losing about 9% in 25 days for no apparent reason has Them mighty worried. I am almost ten and They told me that They would never forgive me if I died, so I gotta avoid that.

      • Ten is not that old, yes you must rally at all cost, even if it means eating the green papers from his wallet. Though I think you could find something with more nutritional value, since our dollar is worth less and less.

  2. More food…Yay! We hope everything works out okay….paws crossed.

Maybe you’ve been running around more.

  3. I’m so glad you get more food, but Kyla, I sure hope those test results come out ok for you! My kittie siblings and I all have our paws crossed for you my furiend!

    Rooooo!

  4. Now see here Kyla. We’ll have none of this. None. Of. This. Do you hear?

There’s nothing wrong with you. You’ve simply figured out how to work the system. You’ve figured out how to BE ABLE TO EAT MORE FOOD. And that’s all there is to that.

Whew. Have some for me, would you? I think the weight you’ve lost has traveled over to my place where I’m still carrying around a few extra lbs.

To be on the safe side, though, my paws are crossed and the peeps are worrying for you. They do a good job of worrying. About me. About the world. You name it. So now They’ve got some more to worry about. So don’t worry about it.

    Aroooo! Stuart
