This is NOT good.

Kenzie was on a special diet, and ALL plates were ALL mine. The new dog is a mooch pooch, just like me. I just found out I have to share. Share food, moi? See this?

He just finished His eggs and here’s what we have-prime Kyla snacking material. In the past He would shut the door to His office to keep out the Kenzer and let me have it. But, not now. Here comes the food sponge on the lookout

She knows the plate is there as well as I do. But instead of just giving Him “the look” like I do, she puts her paws on His lap and already has “the look” down pat. Justice prevails, and I get the plate!

Wait a minute-what’s going on here? He took it away from me when I was only half done.

Oh no-He gave it to her to finish. The only worse thing that could have happened was that she got it all.

Name update. She is still deciding. There were good suggestions and She eliminated some because the name was either used by a family member or someone who visits us and that would be confusing. Some were similar (one was even close to His name and if She called out for the new dog to come, She’d have two goofballs appear with their tongues hanging out). I hope that She names the new dog soon. After I kill her for stealing MY food, she should be named for the obit.

  1. πŸ™‚ Your post made me smile!

  2. Looks like a new word is gonna have to be learnt : “SHARING”. Not something that we Scots do willingly, or without protest. We never had any choice in our household, all plates were presented, but each of us only got one lick each and when there were 5 of us – well can you imagine the barging and shoving that went on. Now there just us 2, we’re a bit more refined …. but only a bit! Looking forward to “christening”!

  3. Aw Kyla…mom says sharing is caring & we know deep, deeeeeeeep down you do care…right?

New pup has the sweetest face…how could you say no to that?

  4. BOL…Well, she certainly is on the ball where food is concerned..Paw on the lap..You’z gonna have to change your technique Kyla…Or learn to share! πŸ™‚ xx00xx

  5. How about Karly for the name? Starts with a K and enough difference so little confusion. Love that face and so so glad she is now in a forever home:)

  6. I think your dad should use two plates ;o) I’m the “dishwasher” in my family too – must think about an adequate payment…. btw: I stuck a plaster over moms mouth before she sings the AWWWWW-song about your new family member :o)

  7. Ok, we see where this is going. Around here we get turns at the plate or bowl, then the next one is for some other doggie. We can tell by your attitude that the newbie has already stoled your heart.

  9. Uh oh!! That’s not good. I don’t share when it comes to food either. Think you and the pup need to have a chat…

  10. We don’t have that fight alone, being only child Doggy get’s spoiled.

  11. Sharing–now there’s an evil word! We only get a THIRD of good stuff. Oh well, she is cute and you will have some great bitey face games and zoomies.

  12. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but…..this WILL keep happening. Trust me, I know from experience. FYI you will get used to it and you will figure out how to get the most out of the plate, who says it has to be even-steven??

  13. The whole name thing, apparently – not easy!
Took my lot 48 hours, 2 days before picking the dog up and 2 days after!!

  14. On the name front, having had The Producer do a bit of research lately, here are some ideas: Taylor, Lola, Daria, Misha, Tosca, Shashta. That’s all I’ve got 😦

  15. Wow… You got some serious competition here… That is one mega cute face!!

  16. Well you just had a rude awakening into a the world of sharing! Though by the looks of that plate he should learn sharing. What skimpy lickings.
