What’s new?

She has made the grand decision. She didn’t ask me, didn’t ask Him and certainly didn’t consult the new dog herself. The name is sort of a combination of a lot of suggestions. The name is (drum roll………………….) Kaci. It’s spelled like that but pronounced like “Casey”. I might find myself abbreviating it as “KC”.

While Kenzie certainly was a big part of this blog, I’ll be changing the header in a bit to replace Kenzie with KC.  This doesn’t mean Kenzie is forgotten, far from it. This blog will be dedicated to Kenzie and if that makes it easier for him to read and keep up with our news where he is, so much the better. The “about” page will be changed soon.

A couple of days ago, we found a frog in the pool. Frog?? How did he get there in the middle of the desert? This is the second one we’ve found. The first  (a few years ago) was big and this one is a baby.

The frog was swimming around all over the pool, sometimes on the top and sometimes on the bottom. The peeps thought the pool chemicals wouldn’t be good for him so He got the net and put him in the bird bath.

The next morning, he was gone. I hope he’s all right.

  1. What a lovely name your new furiend has been given. We’ll be sure to keep close watch on you two girls now – double trouble no doubt! Can’t believe a froggy looked in on you; we also hope he’s ok, somewhere.

  2. It’s a cool name, hope she will like it… Fortunately you don’t live in france, so I think the frog is still alive an he’s fine :o)

  3. Kaci is a fitting name for such a cuite. Maybe you need a frog pond!

    • Apparently we already do! It’s turned into Ellie-May Clampett’s seament pond. (They must be rerunning that series somewhere in the wee hours of the morning).

  4. Love the name..I’m suprised you didn’t eat that frog Kyla..would of gone nice with some beans..BOL..Hope the little fella has hopped off safely to his family. It’s great to have you back 🙂 xx00xx

  5. HOOORAAAY and welcome (again) Kaci – what a pretty name!

Have you taught her to eat green beans yet Kyla…or are you still being a meanie about sharing food?

We agree with Mollie – it really is great to have you back….we missed your sharp wit!

    • The little snack snitch has acquired a taste for green beans. The good news is that she only eats the really short broken off pieces. The big ones are still MINE! I didn’t post for a while because even I was missing my sharp wit.

  6. We like Kaci.
Doggy would have that frog for middle day snack.

  7. Finally a name. If the frog comes back does she have to name it also?
    Thanks for being a friend

    • Yes she would. It appears that all houseflies are named “Goddamit”. It’s a good thing we don’t have Mayflies who only live for a day. Every one of them would have a gravestone “Unknown name”. That’s a good song for your contest-“Did you ever have to make up your mind?” and show a picture of Her as the clue.

      • Lee has names picked out for her dogs before she gets one. Well if I showed a picture of her, you would be the only one who got the clue because none of us knows what she looks like. I only remember once getting a little pit of a picture of her. Now for your Dad, I got a pretty good glance in the reflection of the vets front window. Be careful of reflections if you don’t want us to know.

        • She likes to be with and pick up the personality of a new one and have the name reflect that. Kyla is an auld (aha, got the Scottish spelling) Scottish name for a female which means beautiful (as in “hot” like a supermodel). Kenzie was a Scottish male name meaning “fair skinned” and Kaci has no meaning other than she honored all you guys out in blogville by combining suggestions.

  8. That is a nice name! She did good!

  9. Great name for her, I hope you two are getting along, there’s no sibling rivalry?

  10. Hip, hip AArrrrroooooo for KC! Looks like she’s settled right in.

  11. Can you hear me Arroo Roooo’ing over here? All the way to the right side of the country? The East Coast? No? let me try this AGAIN:

    ArrOOOOOOOOOoooooo ROOOOOOOooooo rooo ro r

That’s for KC! What a dear pooch. Kenzie is waggin’ his tail at y’all I just know it!

    ConDOGulations!

    • I can hear you now! She looks down at KC and sometimes calls her “Kenzie”, catches Herself and thinks of him. KC is very adorable and sweet. She admits KC is making it easier for Her.

  12. Kaci is a very nice choice. I was hoping for my choice but oh well….sigh!! She will love her name and you could name the frog hoppy if it comes back 🙂

  13. OK-Hoppy will return (I hope).

  14. Great name. We almost called our new one JC, but several friends immediately leapt to the conclusion that we were naming him after God’s son rather than my husband’s initials!!!
So we thought it out again 🙂
And understand completely about the blog title. That’s why I started a new blog with Zena. Couldn’t continue what I had started with Zac without him.

    • It’s not the title but the picture at the top that includes Kenzie. I have to get a good one of me and Kaci if I can ever get her to stay still. He told me that it was great to dedicate the blog to the memory of Kenzie. When I go, the blog will still be named Kylascott but be written by Kaci. I certainly hope she wises up quickly otherwise all you’ll get is baby talk. The newer generation-I just don’t know about them. I feel honored that the blog would continue with my name.

  15. We all love your new sister’s name. She is sooo cute! OMD, she is just adorable! We are very happy for you all. Don’t let her have your share of green beans though!
And hey, no talking about ‘going’ O.K.?
