It’s the best day of the year. I can eat all I want (as long as nobody’s looking) and not get yelled at for doing it. I’ve got a lot of things to be thankful for, most rescues do. So I’m going to complain. Yup, it’s time to let it all hang out. Two of the guests coming for dinner are from Ontario. They spend the winter here and can only be here 180 days without getting hit by the governments of both countries (Canada takes benefits away and the US would tax them). They leave AFTER Canadian Thanksgiving Day which is the second Monday of October. They get here in plenty of time for US Thanksgiving Day. Yup, I only get one and they get TWO! Is this fair? If you don’t hear from me for a while, I will have stowed away in their vehicle and will be heading to Canada to get on this two Thanksgivings gravy train. I’ll even learn “Jour de l’Action de grâce” and sneak over to Quebec for some French food.
Kaci has been doing very well at her ‘mooch pooch’ training. I’m promoting her from the rank of Apprentice Mooch Pooch to Intern Assistant to the Master Mooch Pooch (moi, of course) and if she keeps it up, she’ll earn the rank of Assistant and then Full Mooch Pooch. Of course she would have a way to go to be a Master Mooch Pooch. As I promised (see here), she’s earned a bowl of her own. What better day to give it to her in a presentation ceremony. The anticipation is killing her:

She’s learning fast. Her acceptance speech was “Enough of this already, let’s chow down”.

Certainly-but today only. You wouldn’t want it the other 364 days. Compared to today, the other days are just the same old stuff. Thanksgiving is the best, but I’m prejudiced.

It’s not the size of the bowl but the amount of food in the bowl. I’d trade bowls if there were more food in the smaller one. Can’t fool a Master Mooch Pooch.
