Things like this really don’t matter to dogs-only peeps. You see, a dog has its nose on the ground, not in the air. I’m going to ask you dogs a question later.
I’m going to the groomer on Thursday and I’ll probably freeze to death after that-it’s only 65F at eleven in the morning. I’d like to know something before I become an ice cube. Kaci has seen two vets (same office) since she’s been with us and both think she’s a Chihuahua and West Highland White Terrier mix. She has the head of a Chihuahua (with the start of a beard which should get better with age)
and she has the body and fur of a Westie.
Since she’s a dog, she doesn’t worry about which National hero is hers (Pancho MacVilla or Roberto Roy), she can combine them and have the best of both cultures. Then she needs to pick out which single malt tequila to drink. Music is no problem, it must be the Mariachi Bagpipers. Haggis tacos are easy to make. Ok, so now you’ve heard of a plaid serape. She can celebrate BOTH cinco de Mayo and the Queen’s birthday (Maria, Queen of Scots, of course) and birthday 470 is in exactly a week. Maria doesn’t look a day over 44-no wrinkles on her face. We’ll forget that she has no head.
The problem arises when we’re out walking and some peep asks what breeds we are. I’m easy. When it comes to Kaci, “a mixed mutt” doesn’t cut it with peeps who have their noses in the air. They do understand designer dogs like Labradoodle-they’re “in” now (but not mixed mutts). So they can be told she’s a designer dog. Should it be a Chestie or a Wehuahua?
I can’t pronounce Wehuahua, so I’d go with Chestie!
I bet you can pronounce all the Inuit names.
How about she is my designer sister a Scotchawa
Susie & Bites
Catchy, but she’s part Westie, not Scottie. Scotchawa works for one of us and a Chihuahua.
Yes, but that a designer title only and we didn’t say Scottie, and we see Chestie is already taken, and she is now your little sister
Good luck at the groomerz I’d take ya coat. I would stick mt snout in the air and say.. Chestie 🙂 Then walk off..They will probably be googling it for hours..BOL xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Good idea-let them feel inadequate and ignorant.
Oh NOOO. I just googled Chestie and it is an official designer dog. Nothing for Wehuahua.
Just tell them it’s a dog…..We got called Jack Russells this morning, would you believe…
XXXOOO Daisy, bella & roxy
The ignorance of some peeps. Russels are a lot calmer than you three.
Okays, if you lived in Hawaii like Sugar, I would go with Wehuahua (sounds Hawaiian), butts since your from the Main Land, I would go with Chestie….who cares if it’s already a designer dog ~ nobody will know!
Kisses,
Ruby
pees: Good lucks with the groomer! At least you have a professional doin’ your furs….Ma does mine, and you just never know whats I come out lookin’ like!!
Yeah, it’s only for those peeps who really care.
This will be my first time with this groomer. He’s from Mexico City and I can bark at him in Spanish.
Wehuahua. My neighbor dog is a yorkie chihuahua mix, so he is a Chiorkie or a Yorkwawa. As for the groomer, I get what mom calls a modified cut for winter, head cleaned up, back fur trimmed but left long, and tail trimmed. Good luck

Just don’t touch my brows, beard or skirt. Those are Scottie signatures. Can you imagine a Rhodesian with a shaved back? I can’t.
i agree, they leave my brows and beard alone. my skirt never did grow in very well, he thinks I keep it trimmed by zooming around the yard !

You could say she is a Chiland Terrier. That’ll have them searching the dog books for ages 🙂
We need more Chiland Terriers in this world!
Whee like Westhuahua (pronouncing it west wa wa!)
It sound kind of exciting. You could say westie cross.
People stick there noses in the air when Mummy says whee are mixed breeds. Only Nutty is purebred and that was an accidental thing. Whee say ignore them or ask if they are purebred American/British/Irish/French/Sorry-whee-don’t-know-where-you-live!
Nibbles, Nutty, Buddy & Basil

I live in the Old West. I’ll just take them down to the O.K. Corral and shoot ’em up.
That’s a new concept for me-an accidental purebred? Wheeeee Whooooopieee!
Well Mummy actually got him thinking he was a mix then after so research discovered that his sandy coloured marking on his tummy and the rings round his eyes were called ottering which is a trait only found in purebred agoutis! It is kind of silly though!

Being the mom of 2 mixed mutts and getting this question quite as well, I just say Mr. Fox is a Chihuahua mix and Scruffy is a terrier mix. Sometimes I say Mr. Fox is part chihuahua and part crazy. People like that. My husband tells people that Scruffy is one those terrierizers.
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
Some lady asked Him in a parking lot, “Are those dogs calm” and He said, “when they’re not bouncing off the walls”.
I’ll bet your new hairstyle looks great ;o) maybe Kaci could be a High-Huahua, ok, not good sounds like a cocktail ;o)
It doesn’t matter to us-just to certain peeps. She’s growing on me.
Kaci is of the Cutie Pie variety. Kyla don’t let them trim to much.
Sweet William The Scot
Nobody every asks me what I want to look like.
Chestie sounds like she has a cough! But I can’t pronounce the other… Hmmm…
It’s Weh Wah Wah but that sounds like a big crybaby.
We certainly missed out on all that fun! Like Dougall, we struggled to get our teeth around the word westieheuy something or another and She, well She nearly snorted her tea down her nose when she saw your final pronounication! Anyway sounds like you guys have got it all covered. And Kyla – Keep The Coat!! We’ll have to re-start our “Scotties Against Grooming” campaign.
