You learn something every day. She’s a Golden Bear. He’s a Cardinal. We’re taking a break from the Holidays to talk school mascots. You have the Washington and Connecticut Huskies, Nevada and North Carolina State Wolfpack and Boston University Terriers (but they’re not a true terrier-Boston Terrier). For some reason Wofford College in South Carolina are also Terriers but Boston Terriers. None of these do it for me. Now, you understand I never went to school, not even obedience school; this means I never flunked out of school also. There’s the Saint Francis Terriers in Brooklyn:
Now we’re starting to talk. I recently learned of the school that has my heart, Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Look at this
Yes, the mascot of Carnegie Mellon is (drum roll please) the SCOTTISH TERRIER. I’m now a big fan.
It’s the Carnegie-Mellon Tartans with the Scottie as a mascot. I wonder why I never heard about this before. This school has been around since 1900. It just adopted the Scottie as its mascot in 2007. Better late than never but I wonder why.
I guess THEY’RE SLOW LEARNERS.
