Around here, when Kaci or I have a solid accident, They’ll say to each other “Kaci (or Kyla) left us a present in the living room”. They’ve been telling us (especially Kaci) to leave these presents outside. Now, during the Christmas season, we’re supposed to give Them presents? I’m confused but I’ll go with the program. I’ll show you the easy way to give your peep(s) a present made for Christmas.
First, find a good book. What’s a “good” book? It’s one with a very colo(u)rful cover. The best ones have colo(u)r pictures on the inside also. They didn’t leave any of those in my reach so I had to make do with the best available. I was surprised, I thought They only read books with lots of pictures and few words. I was under the impression that one of Their favo(u)rites was about Dick and Jane and their dog named Spot.
Then ingest the colo(u)red paper, leaving only the black and white printing:
Here’s the easy part. Let it sit inside you for about 12 to 24 hours-trust me, you’ll know when it is ready. Leave a big pile where you want Them to admire it. It comes out in COLO(U)RS and is a perfect Christmas present. It was my first effort for Christmas so I wasn’t that surprised that They weren’t 100% pleased. I’ll use better ingredients next time-a more colo(u)rful book.
She insisted that I don’t show the finished product. “Not nice”, She said. I also don’t understand why They weren’t pleased. They’ve called a lot of books “a piece of poo”. I guess the holiday spirit isn’t what it used to be.
You use gift wrapping paper at Christmas time!
Sweet William The Scot
Except They keep it out of my reach.
BOL. What a great idea. I was wondering what I should give Aunty D for Christmas.
Wags,
Ranger
This present goes beyond “it’s the thought that counts”.
Oh Kyla, that has to be the best present ever..I am going to try that..If I time it right, perhaps I could get it under the Christmas tree..BOL xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
A great Christmas morning suprpise!
Good idea – or is it better to eat only the last page of a book? …the (happy) end of the book you can read tomorrow?
That doesn’t matter-eat only the colo(u)red stuff. At times other than Christmas, you only eat the last few pages of whodunits.
All that hard work and thought, rejected. How terrible. Sometimes I don’t think people understand anything 😀
They certainly told me They didn’t understand this one.
BOL! That looks like a Mr. Fox present! You are very creative Kyla. I’m sure the peeps will learn to appreciate your ‘gifts’.
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
I’m gifted all right!
Humm, I never thought of just eatin’ the colored pages, I always just ate everythings….that is a GREAT idea! Plus, the poopies will be easier to find in the dark, right?! Brilliant.
Kisses,
Ruby
They didn’t last that long to find out how they looked in the dark.
Ahhhhhhh, the perfect gift, with cleaning materials to go along with it. As Dad Says “Clean Up On Isle Thirteen”. They don’t leave anything to low so we just made do with Dinner. Again Dad says “Susie Left you a little gift of LOVE, and it is running everywhere”. Heeheehee, Dad so thoughtful to give Krazy Mom such Help!
Susie & Bites
It is better to give than to receive.
Some peeps have no appreciation. We’re sure if you keep working on it, you’ll produce the perfect present!
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
If They let me live that long.
Very thoughtful
I though so-I’m glad the canine jury sees it my way.
I tried that the other day but they caught me in the process (the start) and took the book away… Talk about ingrates!
No wonder They don’t get many cards.
After such a creative gift they should have been thankful 🙂
You would think so, wouldn’t you?
Oh Kyla,
You are always so thoughtful.
RooAroo,
J&P
And unappreciated.
Oh dear. WOW. A gift is a gift, no matter what.
You’re right. They’re not as gifted as I thought.
What a brilliant idea – we were stuck for while there wondering what to get Them – this is just paw-fect. They’ve got friends coming for the weekend next week – we’re considering leaving it till then!
Good idea-spread the cheer.
Shame they didn’t appeciate all the efforts you went to!
I always thought that gifts you made yourself were better than store bought.
How did you get inside my house to take those photos? lol I have two puppies here and boy do I see similar presents regularly. Love the post. Paulette
I don’t know how to get inside your house, I just “doo” my thing.
“I likes this idea! Will try this on my ma’s favorite book tomorrow! Im sure she will love it!”- Kirby
Trust me, They’ll never call you boring again.
“My ma says that is the least of her worries with me, but I get bored quite easily…what can I say”
I have other good ideas …..
“You must let me be the first to know when ya do!” – Kirby
