I went to the dogtor this morning-was there for 2 hours. He scraped and looked at stuff in the microscope. He said I had a bacterial infection in my back and he saw a mite. A mite? How do I get a mite? Anyway, I have a new pill to take every day plus this stuff that gets squirted down my throat every day. Then there’s the worst. The good news is that I don’t have to have a bath everyday, just every other day with this medicated soap ($30.75 for only 8 ounces). The bad news is that on the no-bath days, I get my paws done with the medicated soap. it started today.
I also get a lot of treats because the soap has to sit for 10 minutes-you can see a remnant of a treat just before it disappeared.
I don’t know about this.
There’s more good news and bad news. The good news is that He forgot the booties at the vet’s place. The bad news is that the booties are getting picked up tomorrow. There was no good news about the bill so I won’t mention it.
OH my dawgness. My Kyla friend, mites are attracted to you because you’re BEE-YOU-TI-FUL!
Yes? Yes. Stuart
Unrequited love.
Unrequited (not you), the mites.
Is that soap made out of gold? Holy moly, that’s expensive. Bless your biped for taking care of your cute self and got all our paws crossed this does the trick. Sending tons of wags your way, Max & Bella
Thanks guys. I’ve licked everything that’s been sent my way, so far.
Oh girl how much more can come your way. We will send you our POTP to help get through all this!
The Mad Scots
In March I really needed and got the POTP and was fine. I don’t think this is life threatening. But then again, it couldn’t hurt. Life itself is life-threatening.
Oh dear. I’m so sorry, that’s no fun at all. All those baths and feet washing are hard work for everyone but I hope in your case it helps and those nasty little mites get the message and DIE! They have no business making your life miserable.
And no, there is never any good news about the vet bill 😦
You’ve got the answer. Let the mites eat the vet bill. Brilliant!
Good thing there’s treats. We hope those mites get lost VERY quickly!
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
So do I. But I do want to retain the increased volume of treats.
Crummy spa treatments daily? Yikes! Maybe you can request a mud bath. That would be more fun.
I have to go to the dogster tomorrow for my 1st annual ck-up and shots. I plan on eating lots of treats afterwards.
Get better soon sweetie.
Wags,
Ranger
Remember, in cases of vet visits, treats aren’t an option-they’re a RIGHT!
I just hope you get better soon. It’s not fun being under the weather and all those baths too. Big healing hugs.
Have a woof woof day and do what your momma says. 🙂
Thanks-and that’s no joke!
That’s mite-y bad news, Kyla! Hope you feel better soon!!
Now it’s the baths that are killing me.
You just keep getting the treats. Holy Dawg, after all that you need a lot of them!
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
I let Them know if the treats are insufficient.
That’s Mitey awful Kyla..BOL.. At least you know what is causing it now and you gets treats 🙂 I had my yearly jab and she got Alfie 3 months of flea and worm stuff cost $114.. Love you in the bath Kyla, you look super cute xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
The baths, the baths, oh, the bad baths. I may run away from home.
Poor sweetie I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks. They don’t believe that I’d feel better with no baths.
I had such a “wonder-soap” too – it was a mission impossible to wait for 10 minutes with my paws in the “soap-swamp”. Our Fox Terrier got mites from the Groomer, after a lot of medications we fixed it with Ballistol. Please get well soon Kyla and may you get always only GOOD news.
Now I know why you know so much about us terriers. Ballistol? I’ll look it up.
It’s normally for guns, but it exists for animals and humans too. http://www.ballistol-shop.de/product_info.php?language=en&products_id=198
We never brought our Terry to this groomer. Sadly the next groomer was only able to make poodle-hairstyles, our dog was looking weird but she was healthy.
Good thing you have such a great pit-crew to get you fixed up. Hope you feel better soon!
That sounds like NASCAR. It’s more like a torture chamber.
OMD Kyla…the torture!!! We hope all this medicated soap and bathing sorts everything out soon!
Not only that-the mouth injection doesn’t taste too good.Give me a dead rat anyday. The problem is after 3 days of this, they double the dose. After 3 more, they increase it again. It goes on for over 2 weeks with increasing doses every 3 days.
Kyla that is just awful…sorry, arfull!!!
Holy Crap gurl! What’s goin’ on?? B.A.T.H.’s evey other DAY?! TEN MINUTES?! Geesh, I sure hopes those are good treaties! Ma had a Irish Terrier that had to have these 10min. torture sessions, it was terribles! Butts, it did clear it up…so , there’s that.
Gosh, I hopes that at least your peeps will give you some pawsome belly rubs for all this tortures….
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
I’ve been through this before, about three years ago. The Irish couldn’t have been bad, it led your peeps to get you and They won the lottery.
Maybe you should bleach all your throws and towels to help kill the bitey mites.
Wags,
Ranger
They’re going with what the Doc says. He’s good but pricey. If you’re going to pay for good advice, take it. He only saw one under the microscope and identified the species.
Oh Kyla you poor thing! Glad to hear you’re getting lots of treats though. Hope the mites find a new home soon xxx
I really don’t care where they go-just not here.
Oh my! I’ve certainly missed out on things during my 8 day holiday (45 minutes from home!) I hate baths too so I sympathise. Hope them mites leave home soon. Noticed you were setting a new fashion trend again with them booties ….
Holiday? We may go on holiday this August but it depends on our hosts (who might move closer to us if the house is sold). They won’t leave home without us.
