Wednesday we traveled from Helena to Kalispell (both in Montana). Most of the trip was on roads with one lane for each direction and all the good stuff was on the other side. We knew we’d be returning and the good stuff would be on the side we were travelling (speed limit 70mph 115 kmh). Yesterday (Thurs) we went on our tour of Glacier National Park. It’s going to take a lot of time to organize and present all the photos so I’ll report when we get back home. Today we retraced our steps somewhat and went from Kalispell to Idaho Falls, Idaho. The scenery was great and the deciduous trees were just starting to turn. There’s a week to go in August (equivalent of February in the Southern Hemisphere) and the trees are starting to turn? That’s the north country.
There were a lot of lakes and the scenery is something you could see in the Adirondacks of New York State, Lake Tahoe, or Switzerland. There are equivalent places in the Southern Hemisphere, I’m sure, and NZ comes to mind. Here’s the best:
There were also scattered thunderstorms in very southern Montana. The picture quality is poor because it was taken through the windshield (windscreen) and on the move. It would be storming in a very local area and a few miles away, there’d be nothing of the sort.
Our auntie is posting similar photos! She’s there somewhere. Looks like a gorgeous place. Hope you girls are getting out to investigate often.

It’ll be good to get home late tomorrow
Lee says she wants to buy the island in the lake, find out if it is for sale. I got my island in the Little Miami River Bawhehheeeeee!
Sweet William The Scot
There IS a house on it. No garage, of course, just a boat dock.
I’ve heard a number of comments lately that leaves are turning early this year. Leaves turning now is pretty unusual, even in the mountains up north. I’ve enjoyed Glacier National Park too; glad you got to visit there! I expect some pretty pics from there!
You’ll get them when we get home. We just got in the St. George, Utah.
There is some beautiful countryside up there. I need to visit again.
Have a terrific day. 🙂
I’d wait just a bit. It was cold in Idaho Falls last night.
There are two islands in this lake, right? I Lee and Sweet William get one, can I have the other one? Thanks for the photos Kyla, it’s a little holiday for me too :o)
As Porky Pig once said, “What about MEEEEEEE?”.
Welcome to wonderful scenic America, hope your having fun you and Kaci!
