It’s that weekend. A year ago after Kenzie went to the bridge, a week later we went to Orange County in California to meet “Roxy Pants”. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Carson, California by a good group (big plug to LoveBugs Rescue in Orange County). Of course, I made the trip with Them. Everyone had to agree and get along great with a new addition. We saw a picture of “Roxy Pants” on the Internet and fell in love with her. We arrived at Heather’s home where she was. Heather’s on the right.
“Roxy Pants” was in a kill shelter on death’s row when Heather came through and took her out of there. Apparently she was on death’s row in a big pen with really big dogs-they didn’t care because she was a goner anyway. We took “Roxy Pants” and that made room for another dog to be saved by Heather and LoveBugs Rescue. She came to that shelter as a stray and part of one ear has a bite out of it. We went on Saturday and returned to Arizona on Sunday with a new dog. She was renamed Kaci and Kaci didn’t make us forget Kenzie but certainly helped to ease some of the pain. Thank you Heather, again.
She is definitely part Westie with Westie fur and Westie independence. Kaci has “sort of” grown up into an adorable, lovable, wonderful friend and has loads of personality. We’re lucky to have her.
The last picture says a lot about her-she’s almost never without a toy in her mouth.

These are the first real pics I’ve seen of Kaci. You say she looks like my Gracie. Thing is, your sweet Kaci is actually recognizable as a dog, Gracie, not so much. We’ve actually had people ask if she was a dog.
She look like a dog to me and she looks like me so she looks like a dog!
I mentioned before that Gracie looks better in pictures than in real life. People have accused her of being a deformed goat on many occasions 🙂
Happy Gotcha Day Kaci! You are adorable! Our Ginger came from the Carson shelter. It is not a good place. I am so glad you were saved from there.

I try to cover it up with make-up and a comb-over. When They try to get a close up, I get camera shy. They vow to to show it and I vow They can’t.
