First-the second batch of licence plates was mailed yesterday. Those who were in the mailing know that they’re in the second batch. US dogs should get them in a week and International dogs in about three weeks. If you don’t get it, let me know. Those in the first batch should have all gotten them by now. If you didn’t get yours, let me know.

Now for today’s business. I have a puppy, Kaci, to train. Some of you other pups might learn from these lessons-the result of my over 11 years of experience. I’m having problems with her-terriers are notoriously hard to train. It’s been over an hour since breakfast and we haven’t had dessert yet. Sometimes peeps need a gentle reminder. Here’s how to do it.
A few pointers. Notice Kaci tries to beg far from the peep and with a toy in her mouth. That’s a common puppy mistake. Get up close and give a non-threatening little growl to get the peeps’ attention. Notice the implied threat to rearrange the furniture again if your demands are not met. Does it work? Don’t mess with success.
That’s it for now-it’s hard to post with my mouth full.
Kyla is one smart cookie. She knows how to get her way. Kacy seems to know her place and defer to the older and wiser dog. Shelby is not content to let this happen. She bosses Sid all of the times, even though he is three years older and has been in the house for 5+ more years. It is a girl thing.
I’m a female and it doesn’t work on me when Kaci tries it.
Oh Kyla that was brilliant, don’t think we have ever seen a video of you. Your techniques are fab.. Love the way Kaci keeps looking at you wagging her tail BOL, she has a lot to learn but she has learn’t respect, keeping out the way why you enjoy those yummy beans. Least she a few thrown at her in the end 🙂 Bawahhhahaa xxooxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
She didn’t beg correctly-if she did there would have been more beans and sooner.
I think the both of you are pawsome. I’d give you pretty much whatever you wanted.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your humans. 🙂
Thank you. My peep says that if we got everything we wanted, we’d be fat butterballs.
I just love you Kyla! You know Mr. Fox has that routine down pat. He does the same thing to us! Scruffy has not got it going on like you. I loved seeing that video.
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
I betcha it works for Mr Fox also.
Nice. You are much more quiet than I am though. I like to bark and then whine if Ma keeps ignorin’ me. I likes how you look over your shoulder to make sure Kaci isn’t tryin’ to sneak up on you and get your green beans! BOL
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
This is the FIRST attempt. It usually works. There are difficult days when I escalate in stages.
Whee love your way of making those hoomans sit up and listen. Whee have taken to kicking the dirty poop covered hay out of the cage and all over the floor when our demands are not met!

xxxx
You must have learned that from Kismet.
Kaci your tail is going so fast you should get desert just for the tail wags,
Kyla you are too cute for words. You two can come and live with me anytime.
Sweet William The Scot
Kaci has “toy in mouth” disease and her tail is always moving. We’re on our way.
Kyla mom showed me you video I must say it did cause me to tilt my head a growl.
Aroo to you,
Sully
It was a friendly growl, however.
My, my, Kyla! We’ve never seen such a large bag o’ beans!! You’re doing a great job teaching Kaci!
Edgar and his mum
I know it’s that bag is in the kitchen freezer. There’s another FIVE pounds in the garage freezer. Why are they being so stingy?
Oh Kyla, you sound just like our Uncle Fergus. He was a master of this technique too!
We compared notes on our valentine’s date.
you’re right, never beg with a toy in your mouth. That looks like you would be well served. btw: I never saw a begging-performance like yours, but I will try that next time. What was the second step? Have I to bark two times or more before I attack the pillow?
Stage 2 is a persistent loud bark. Kaci joins me and it drives Them nuts (well, nutsier).
You should conduct online seminars! XD
I thought I just did! What works in Arizona should work in Singapore.
The human here is evil, the treats only come out when I lie on the floor like a dead dog… which is rather comfortable actually…
We watched the video twice just to make sure we didn’t miss anything – pawsome lesson, thanks Kyla!
Wally & Sammy
p.s. no plate yet BUTT mom is going to check again this afternoon – things take a little longer to get to us all the down here.
Would you believe it was less to send it there than to England or France?
OH MY LORD!!! I love these little movies!
First, YOU are the best Scottie. Teaching that little Kaci how to be a Scottie. Perfect! You and I do THE SAME THINGS!!!! I knew it. You’ve got the Scottie stare down pat.
Kaci doesn’t get it, BUT she does get the CUTE thing.
Next, green beans. YES. WE. LOVE. THEM.
OK. Seems I’ve missed the gift exchange. And I’m sure I’ve missed the card exchange.
Just call me late to everything.
Darn it.
With Kaci, it’s a struggle but eventually she “gets it”.
Oh My! Kyla! What a lovely voice you have …… I think I’ve fallen in love with you. I’m good a re-arranging furniture and I also love green beans …. but methinks that you are far too clever for a boy like me!
11½ years of experience. I use cleverness for good purposes.
Thank you, Kyla, for helping me. I hear ‘no more’ a lot. Now this Scottie infomercial has given me a lot of pointers. Off to practice…

Practice makes perfect. Best of Luck (the other BOL).
Love seeing the ladies in motion! It lets us see their personalities!
Yup, there might be more videos because stills don’t show attitudes.
