Kaci and I are upset. You see, there was a six month old Scottie boy who had peeps who weren’t prepared for an energetic terrier. He was only 40 miles away. They were getting him a new home. We got our two cents in as quickly as possible. It was a match made in heaven (his name, Kiemo, even started with a K). Email wasn’t fast enough-we should have had Kismet make a special delivery. Someone beat us to him. Boo Hiss. There aren’t many of us Scotties here and almost none for rescue.
Oh how bad. I’m sure Kiemo would be the perfect addition to Casa Kyla. I’m upset now too as your partisan. it’s sad when peeps are not preapred for a puppy ….. butt just between us: as mom’s foxterrier was a puppy, her dad got an sos-phonecall by my mom and had to come home. he found my mom crying as a nervous wreck, while the dog was under the sofa and refused to come out. in company with a squished liver sausage and mom’s keys :o)
The Scottie and peeps were in a retirement community. I have nothing against oldsters (like myself) but I imagine a terrier puppy is a shock to anyone not yet “terrierized”, especially sedate seniors.
maybe because they aren’t “just” dogs, they are terriers :o)
That’s why so many Westies wind up in rescue-peeps think they’re adorable lap dogs, get one, and then the fun starts.
Sorry that you missed out on a new friend. There are many rescues available. You should try Scottish Terrier Rescue of the Southeast. The people in Texas will only adopt to Texans. They always have a bunch.
I know about Scottie Kingdom. It takes us a day’s drive to get to El Paso and another to get to Dallas (dogs go also). The SE is a stretch.
That’s so sad you missed out Kyla, perhaps he might not settle in his new home and you might still get a chance, emailing telling them that, any problems at new home, you’ll have him. As you are an experienced Scottie 🙂 xxooxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Great minds think alike-we did that yesterday.
Well sometimes you win and sometimes you don’t. Bugger.
Have a woof woof day. My best to your humans. 🙂
It would be nice to win the important ones. I hope that Kiemo went to a good situation. That would be a win.
I hope he went to a good home though! Woooowoooo!
All I know is that he went to someone about 15 miles away. I hope it’s great for him.
Hummmm, we keep checking, but we have not heard of anything around us,them STUPIDS at Scottie Kingdom, had our run in about we are not Texans, Idiots, Hey Sully and Daisy live there maybe you could pull a sneakie adoption with them.
The Mad Scots
I’d rather not sneak something-I’m on the up and up. Amazing that dogs would suffer because of artificial human borders.
I had a bad experience with Scottie Kingdom also. They had a little boy who was born with cataracts. I had OSU talk to them. I was willing to pay to give vision back to him. My friends parents weather in Texas they have an address there for over 8 years in the winter ~ come back here in the summer. Scottie Kingdom would not consider even letting this little fellow out of the state so he could get care.
Sweet William The Scot & Lee
Sorry Kyla and Kaci. Hope the little fellow gets as nice of a home as you could have offered.
SWTS
I hope he’ll be fine, also. I have no clue other than the peeps who (probably correctly) surmised that they’re not capable of giving the Scottie a good life research the new home. It would have been hectic here for a little bit with six of us (we include Kismet the parrot), but we’re up to the task. Having a sibling for Kaci in the long run would be just great. Today, Kaci got freaked-she couldn’t find me and that was unacceptable. I was outside in the dog run (which she won’t enter) doing business-if you know what I mean. Kaci won’t go through the dog door, I can’t figure it out either.
Maybe you’ll bump into Kiemo on your travels so you can at least hang out
That could be-we do some shopping where he’s going.
Oh, that sucks gurl!! Well, I had the same thought in keepin’ your name in the mix ‘just in case’ things don’t work out…you know us terriers can be ALOT for those who don’t know any better….BOL
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
I try to be a load even to those know should know better!
This is sad, on a number of levels. I hope he or some other great friend comes along.
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
We do also. Kaci needs someone after I’m gone.
That’s what makes me sad Kyla… Can’t you live forever?
With my age comes maturity and the realization that I can’t live forever.
Oh dogs sorry you and Kaci messed out on having a new family member.
Aroo to you,
Sully
The male peep is also upset. All of us girls (including the parrot) gang up on him. When it’s boys night out, he has to go solo. When the next opportunity for a Scottie comes up, gender won’t matter, as usual.
At least he got a good home! 🙂
We hope so-all we know is what town he’ll be in.
How disappointing girls 😦 We had no idea you were looking at adopting another sibling. On the bright side it is good to know that Kiemo is wanted.
Wally & Sammy
Around here, Scotties are scarce. I may see a new (to me) one every 2 to 3 years. Finding a rescue is tough. When you see one-you have to hop on it. I won’t be around forever and it would be nice to leave Kaci in good paws.
Awww… I hope there’ll be another one to join your good work in terrierizing your folks… in time. Meanwhile, you guys don’t do too badly with each other ^__^ no?
We do, but for how long? I’m almost 11½ and Scotties aren’t long lived.
Awww that’s a shame. Whee hope that you find another pup you can open your hearts and home to soon ^_^

Scotties are tough to come by here. Most want a “real dog” which means a mini-horse.
Y’all are the best to even want this precious thing. It’d been even better if it had worked out, but you’re still the best for trying.
AroOOO, Stuart
We could have used another Scottie-we’d gang up on Kaci, not that I can’t handle her myself but I have to sleep sometime.
If you’re looking for a rescue Scottie, just say the word. I know a gal with feelers out everywhere! It might not be immediate, but if there is a Scottie in need, she will find him!
