I don’t know. My peep wanted the specialist to look at my X-rays (see last post). Today we got the results. They’re confusing (that’s why they’re called experts and experts can never be wrong). It appears that if the antibiotics I’m on don’t work, it’s a toe amputation, probably a week from Monday. I’m just so excited-NOT.

At least if it happens because it doesn’t get better, it will be delayed a week (OK, a wheek for you guinea pigs).  If it is the big C, hopefully it will be caught before spreading.

  1. You need to see Dr. Soderstrom at Sonoran Vet Specialists on 40th St. & Cactus. He’s an orthopedic surgeon with a cytology background.

Me personally: Not good experiences with Sonoran, but I saw Dr. Harris – NOT recommended.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Soderstrom, and I also happen to know his best friend. If you want to get in to see him but are having trouble getting an appointment, I can see if some strings can be pulled.

    • Dr Cohen of Anthem Pet Medical Center has pulled me through Addision’s and pancreatitis. I wouldn’t be here without him. I’ll stick with his judgment. Thanks for thinking about me, but I think I’ve got good care and Dr Cohen gets second opinions with specialists without asking.

  2. Ick. So, is it still sensitive? I can’t imagine you having to wait a week. I do like guinea peeg talking…wheek! I bet the doc told your peep lots of crunchy treats and to treat you like royalty. Thanks for the update!

  3. Ugh, I hope this all sorts itself out. The thought of a toe amputation is not pleasant. Will you still be able to walk ok? I just hope they figure this out fast and in the mean time the peeps do what Daisy said – the royal treatment.
