This morning we went to the vet’s office
I was eager to go in-the suspense was too much and I know where the vet has every treat jar.
Of course, I had to go on the table and get my vitals checked out by the vet tech.
Now I have to wait for the Doc. I’m wearing Mollie’s bandana for good luck. The Doc came in, looked at my foot AND…….
the toe comes off next Monday. Gimme the treats I’m due and let me out of there. On Kenzie’s last visit, he didn’t come out and I wanted out NOW.
My peep said that it wasn’t the end of the world and I’d be better. We went outside
The peep told me to take a deep breath and smell the flowers-life’s too short to worry.
If life’s too short-the hell with the flowers, let me catch up on the pee mail.
I’m sorry, Kyla, I know you’ll miss that toe.
Maybe I can have it pickled and put on a jar on the mantle?
I’m sure that won’t freak anyone out. Go ahead.
I was hoping for a different outcome too, but it’s what it is. We’ll be sending lots of healing scritches.
Have a woof woof day. 🙂
I can feel them right now.
I hope by them keeping your toe you keep your life. Love and huggs and healing vibes are sent your way.
Bentley
I would have kept my life anyway, I think. They tell me that my foot will be pain free and I’ll walk better. At least that’s Their story-we’ll see.
We are glad that you have a positive attitude. Pee on the Lantana for us. We have some in front of our house and have been unable to destroy it. It is like you.
It collects a lot of pee mail especially when it’s right outside of the vet’s office.
Hmmm, losing a toe sounds terrierible until you realize that you will not be in any more pain. Besides, think of all the treats you will get!
I’ve already eaten those in my dreams. They’re just going to have to get more.
Sorry for your toe but we know you will be a brave pup. Sending more healing vibes and POTP. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Thanks Molly-it’s unavoidable, I guess.
Oh Kyla. Ypur peeps are right butvit is upsetting nontheless. Did the doctor give you the all clear on the Big C front though? You know that we are thinking of you & we will not be uncrossing our paws until Kaci or Kali tell us that all is A-ok! Now tell the peeps to stock up on plenty of FRESH & FROZEN green beans, they have anti inflammatory properties *wink-wink*.
Sending you lots of love feisty girl,
Wally & Sammy
We’ll know more about the “C” after next Monday. Green beans are also good for recuperation. Come to think of it, they’re good for pre-op preparation so I’m gonna toodle off to the peeps to beg for some (for medicinal purposes).
Oh, sorry gurl! Butts you knows Corbin had his toe removed and his is right as rain nows! He runs and jumps and does everything he did befores, so I have no doubt that you will be just the same active curmudgeon as you are nows! BOL
Nows, go load ups on the green beans…your gonna need your strength!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
I’ll always be a curmudgeon. What I want to be is a curmudgeon with green beans on a plate in front of me.
Sorry to hear about your toe, and wishing you a superfast recovery xxx
Thanks. The actual amputation won’t take place until next Monday.
One less toe to answer, one less egg to fry…sorry, but that song just popped in my head. Because this will all be OKAY!!! So the toe’s gotta go. You can handle that. Good. Get that bad thingey taken care of.
Oh me. It’ll hurt. But, wait, no it won’t. You won’t know what’s happening. And you’ll get meds and treats and treats and treats. Whew.
Here’s holding you close to my heart my Kyla friend.
Your pal, Stu
Why, thank you, Stu. After it is over we can share a plate of green beans.
You’re the ONLY one I’d ever share my beans with. Ever. Really.
I forgot that it has to be a BIIIIIIG plate of beans.
Bummer Kyla, just a dog gone bummer. Well one less nail to clip. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way
Sweet William The Scot
It’s not like it’s going to spoil my girlish looks, nobody looks at my hind feet anyway.
Oh dear, not the news we had hoped for, but not the worst news either. You shall be just fine! We suggest green beans to ice your owie afterwards, and then you can eat them as they thaw!
Edgar and his mum
If I can wait that long. Usually they’re gone before they think about thawing.
OMD! But it is just ONE toe! We’ll keep our paws crossed.
We can’t believe how you led the way in to the dreaded VETS. We always have to be dragged in–or carried in Bella’s case–treats or NOT!
I’ll do anything for food and that’s where the treats are.
Dang! well look at it like this, it’s less toe jam.
Aroo to you,
Sully
It’s time to practice my field goal kicking. Having no toes didn’t bother Tom Dempsey who held the record for the longest field goad (63 yards) until it was broken recently (but that happened in Denver and shouldn’t count).
Oh Crap, but on the good side (nothing bright about it) the pain will be gone, you can chase the other two nuts around. Bites says he’s crossing his paws every day and say prayers for like 20 minutes (tried to explain he ain’t Catholic) but he says thats what he doing. Let us know if you need some green beans flown in, say like weekly!
Susie & Bites
No problem with the prayers. I’m the Pope and I’m not Cathollc. Weekly additional green beans! Yesssss.
OMD…. your toe has to come off? I feel your pain. I ripped off my toenail dis past week and it was painful. We can both be gimps together.
I’m gonna send up loads of paw prayers for you.
Wags,
Ranger
And you have mine. When is “Limping Larry Day”?
Our boy Shadow had one of his toes removed last summer and I think it makes him just that much more unique and special, just like it will you!! 🙂 **And we’ll be sending lots of healing vibes that you’ll be out checking pee-mail really soon afterwards!!!!
There’s another member of the 19-digit club!
It won’t be so bad Kyla! Hector lost an eye and he keeps on Hectoring. I’m sure you’ll keep on Kyla-ing sans a toe!
I’m not going to give up Kyla-ing. Be yourself, I always say. Even if you’re incomplete.
So sorry to hear about your toe, Kyla. You will pull through this and will be in no more pain after you’ve recovered. Keep us posted. Much love, The Scottie Mom.
I’ll keep everyone posted-you can count on that (but only to 19 because without all my digits, I can’t count to 20).
Oh and I thought the bandana and all the good wishes would bring good news to you. But I agree with your peeps, it’s not the end of the world and I hope all goes well next monday. Send you a big hug and tons of power for next monday.
Use all your weight for those good wishes. It gives you an excuse to ignore the diet, at least temporarily. We’ll figure out another excuse later.
Oh Kyla, sorry about the loss of a toe. I’ve known several dogs that have lost entire legs and are bouncing around like their usual selves in no time. I know you won’t be held down by this loss for very long.
I’m pondering what it is going to mean to me.
It means you’ll now be even more unique and special (if that’s even possible).
Oh Kyla… I can tell you Mr. Fox does not seem to miss his eye. Well, I mean, I’m human so from my perspective… I hope you will fell better and after the toe goes away you will be all healed and fine.
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
It’s a good thing that it is the “pinky”. The “C” word was scarier than the mention of amputation.
There will be no more mention of the C word because there will be no need to ever mention it!
Kyla you will be just fine. You will be so fuzzed over so milk it girl 🙂 So pleased you liked the Bandana, Wez with you all the way xxxoxxxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
I know that you’re on my side.
Oh my …… where have we been! I’ll let you have one of Fabi’s toes if that’ll help. It’ll certainly stop her bounding around and picking on me so much. Seriously though, the whole of Blogsville is behind you xxxxx
We know the feeling. Kali is our “wild child”.
Trev would say…this is the time to rack up on treats…Sending well wishes and tons of treats your way!!!!
Yesssss. A terrier after my own heart!
