Tomorrow is my toe amputation. I’ll report on it when I’m home and whatever they give me wears off.
Today, it is time to smell the flowers and appreciate life.
This is an Argentine Giant cactus and you can see why it is called a giant. That flower is immense for the plant size.
The trees are in bloom. In April, the Palo Verdes started with their yellow flowers (palo verde means green skin in Spanish) so the flowers and green bark are great.
They’re all over
But now, they’re losing their flowers and won’t get more until next spring.
But the ironwoods are starting to bloom and for this short while, you can see the yellow palo verdes near the purple-pink ironwoods.
Appreciating the flora keeps my mind occupied and not obsessed with tomorrow.
Me and Nellie will be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope it all goes well.
Thanks, guys.
We send you good luck fur a successful and quick healing! Wooooowoooooooo!
I hope you’re right-I just don’t like getting cut. Last time that happened, there went my chances of motherhood.
You are in our thoughts and prayers here too. I’m sure everything will go as planned.
Today just enjoy the good things in life.
Have a woof woof day. 🙂
Thanks. Best to LB.
You will be ok Kyla. I just know it. We will be thinking of you all day and sending good vibes your way. Think of the green beans… ps – we live near a place called Palos Verdes.
Alyssa, Mr. Fox & Scruffy
That’s grammatically correct for the plural of palo verde. Someone there knew their Spanish when they named the town.
That cactus flower is gorgeous. Such a beautiful time of year. We’ll keep our paws crossed for your op tomorrow, which is here, today. Just soak up all the extra attention that you deserve.
Since you’re in tomorrow, how’d the operation go?
Max advises great care when placing nose near cactus. Good luck, Kyla and smell ya when ya get back.
I learnt that the hard way. I also advise Max to be careful when peeing on one.

Thanks Daisy. I had to take my mind off tomorrow.
Your area of the world is beautiful just like you. Prayers for your fast healing.

This area is certainly different from most places. Every place has good points and bad points. A good point is that there’s no squirrels here. A bad point is that there are no squirrels to chase here.
We will be thinking about you tomorrow. You definitely live in a beautiful area. Your cacti is magnificent. The trees are beautiful. Enjoy it. We did.
Thanks-it only last April and May.
Loves the blooms gurl! I will be thinkin’ abouts you tomorrow and hopes you gets all kinds of good drugs!! BOL

That’s a wonderful flower on your cactus, Kyla. We only have one cactus what has flowers, it’s sadly a carrion flower with an awful smell. You are in my thoughts today and I cross all my paws for you, dear scottie lady.
Thanks Easy. I leave in ½ hour.
good luck and see you back from the surgery soon!
Thanks, Donna. You’ll get your report tomorrow when you wake up.
I just popped in to say I am thinking of you and praying for you Kyla.
For some reason this post did not drop into my in box ~ sorry I am late to post a comment.
You’ve got to stop and smell the roses
