I’m home!

They rescued me. This was the second time, the first was over 11 years ago. I’m home and there will be no pictures (I’m a mess and a lady can’t be seen this way-you girls will know what I mean). The amputation was a success and my toe is going to the pathologist to see what the problem was and if I need to worry any more. That will take five days. I have a bandage on my foot and it can’t get wet. I was told “no swimming” but that’s like telling someone with a fear of heights not to tightrope walk across the Grand Canyon-no problem there. I have to keep my bandage dry and the one problem (and this is embarrassing) is that sometimes when I piddle, I don’t aim too well and/or I do it really right with a lot of liquid and I possibly could get the bandage wet. When They take me out to do whatever, They have to enclose my foot and bandage in plastic wrap. Am I a fashion trendsetter, or what? First booties and now transparent flexible shoes. I’m supposed to not play with the youngsters (do I have to wither away?) and I’m not supposed to eat or drink too much tonight-WHAT? Me eat too much, no way no how. The vet said that I might vomit but They know me and said “Kyla would NEVER waste food that way”.  No matter, I’m on reduced rations for a short while-that’s considered war in Kyla-think. Now you have all the skinny on my condition, except

yessssss, I’M ON PAIN MEDS- loop-de-loop and hell yes, whatever. Now to crash under the bed. Here’s a picture of me in my official Blogville uniform. Oh yessss, I just blessed myself but I’m not supposed to touch the Holy Water.

  1. Me and Nellie are glad that you are doing ok.

  2. Well, we’re glad the op was a success and we hope there was nothing badly wrong with your toe. Now, about keeping it dry, we think living in the desert might be an advantage. Hope you recover soon and can have more FOOD! (This traumatic experience is worth much more than green beans.)

  3. Kyla think no baths. Pain meds love them. Just go potty more often. Or you could try it like me ~ lift the leg that is minus a toe and pee one of the little monsters.
Glad you are home in the arms that love you.
    Sweet William The Scot

  4. Hey, I’m one of the little monsters. She can’t go potty a whole lot, she’s prohibited from excessive H2O intake. I think her comment on that was “I’m switching to margaritas”.

  5. Glad to hear everything went well. You are a true fashionista, I’m just glad they didn’t put ziplock bags on your feet. Continued prayers.

    Aroo to you,
    Sully

  6. Oh, I am SOOOO glads to hear you’re okay gurl!! Now, I knew the dogtor would give you some of the ‘good stuffs’ (pain meds) so you can just lay and lets the peeps bring everything TO you! Ah, as it should be.
Okays, now Ma has a tip on the plastic wrap to keep the footie dry…use Glad Press and Seal wrap! It is the bestest and it sticks to itself so you don’t have to use rubberbands or anything to keep it in place. Ma used it on her Angel Annie when her footie had to be kept dry during an El Nino..worked amazingly well.
Anyhu, I’m keepin’ my paws crossed your paw heals up nicely and you gets FABulous news in 5 days.
Now, Kaci and Kyla ~ you take good care of her, okays?
    Kisses,

  8. She’s sleeping right now (good) and she’ll see all your comments tomorrow.

  9. I am so happy to read about your ‘experience’. War wounds are cool to talk about…after the fact. I think it’s even more fun to make up a story on how you lost your toe. It could be a contest!! I’m sure you are sleeping soundly and pain free. So glad you’re home!

    • Regular meals-here’s someone who understands my predicament. I think I’ll start off with green beans and a side of SouthWest hot sauce for an appetizer.

  20. So glad you are home and well! I hope you get back to regular rations soon…I hate limited foodies (the humans sometimes call it a diet). Woof!
