Yesterday we went to the vet to pick up my holistic supplements. We picked up a bottle of green tea extract (120 capsules) and a bottle of curcumin (120 capsules). Everything was fine until the time came to pay the bill. The lady said “$155.50”! Say what? For those of you who don’t use the US dollar, save yourself and don’t put it through a currency converter-if you do you’ll faint. We can get human grade stuff for much less.
For the curcumin, I can get 400g of tumeric powder for 4US-at the local Asian store-fit for human consumption. I can get 120 capules of curcumin 675mg for 32US from the same vitamin company that the peeps use.
For the green tea extract, I can get 120 500mg capsules for 5½US from the human vitamin company.
So I got out of the office for 155½ US. I can get the same thing (human grade) for 9½ US.
Good gravy! However, there’s been progress on the green bean front.
Ranch run a muck suggested red clover oil. I’m checking it out.
Dr Wallace and Dr Samuel are researching it for me-see their reply to my previous post.
Easy found documented evidence in a recent newspaper
and to think that this paper was on the bottom of a tortoise cage while the tortoise was eating strawberries. This stuff is just too important for that.
That’s a big savings. Wow.
Have a woof woof day. 🙂
I’ve heard about being taken for a ride but I always thought that it was a good thing.
OMD how could they look you in the face and charge you that price. My Vet has told my peep to go the the human store before to get some med’s and things because of the price they would have to charge for the items. Green beans will cure all.

I guess the college tuition for his kids is due soon.
I noticed that phenomenon too. I asked why and they said: health supplements for dogs need more tests and quality inspections. And therefore they had a different price. The paper wasn’t in Hell-muts cage, I never share things with beans with that guy, they are made just for me :o)
I should have known. There were no berry juice stains on it or reptile poo.
mom said Hell-mut is house trained (pfff as if) he uses my back yard to place his reptile-bombs…
heavens! How can supplements for dogs require MORE tests and quality control than people’s supplements?
Edgar and his mum
We’re more important than humans!
I’ve found that buying supplements on Amazon saves big money. Now about that Yeti-poodle…
You mean you’re in love with her?
We priced them at Amazon. The savings were not enough to matter. I guess the vet just chooses pricey brands.
Gosh you sure need to shop around and we are sure there are cheaper human alternatives on line here as well. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
I’m certain there are also. After checking out Amazon, he’s not making a fortune off these-they’re just from a super-premium brand.
I was in Sam’s Club yesterday and there was a big sign in the pharmacy window that said we now carry Pet Medication. Bring your Prescription or Holistic Script To Us.
Sam’s Club is like Cosco. You might try that next.
Sweet William The Scot
I’ll check out Costco. It’s not prescription stuff, however.
Oh my dawg. Really? Seriously? Human stuff. That’s the ticket! Good for the Peeps! You want I should check out some stuff in my ‘hood and let you know?
There are a lot of drugs here, whoops that came out wrong. A lot of companies use Arizona as a distribution point. They’re going to talk to the vet and see why the expensive stuff is so superior. If They only save a buck and a half going to Amazon, it’s not worth making the vet mad at me.
Oh no….a mad dogtor is NEVER a good idea.
Hope your tootsie is feeling OK.
We’re barkless…well, almost. What a rip off. We think askin’ a vet about them might be a good idea, but then, they might not like holistic stuff. Just seems ridiculous–but par for the course. Hopefully, they’ll last you a few months.
I think the plan is that this is a lifetime thing. The vet is an advocate of holistic. At these prices, I can understand that.
I always knew they think we’ll pay for the dog what we won’t pay for ourselves…. sometimes they’re right 😛 But we’re no fools too!
They paid. Enough said.
Vets… They know how to make a buck – not cool. Anyway… I hope it all makes you even more perfect and now that there is documented proof on the effectiveness of green beans I expect you should be sufficiently spoiled with them.

I think there may be endorsement opportunities in the future.
We – Dr’s Wallace & Samuel, MD – are about 3/4s of the way through a packet of green beans *AHEM* we mean our research & report writing! The report should be ready by Sunday the latest.
Those vet prices for your meds are CRAZY!!! WT-FLIPPIN-D!!! Thankfully you do have alternative options.
Have a good weekend girls…Kyla remember to keep that paw elevated.
Wally & Sammy
You better get some more beans so the report is your best work.
I fink green beans is definitely da key, yup, dat are it. 😉
Dr. Whitley’s scholarly report. The vet will be impressed!
[…] contacted Samuel and I, knowing what huge green bean enthusiasts we are, and asked that we research and publish a report in support of her including green beans in her new holistic regime. Being the greedy learned pups […]
