I can’t get mad at Kaci for letting my age and birthday be public. She’s a good (if immature) soul and I’m starting to mellow about the subject. One of His ancestors was born before the Wright brothers flew their airplane at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. She was defensive about her age until she was 90 and then she was proud of her achievement. She finally crossed at age 102. Well, I’m going to make it to 102 (or beyond) so I’m not that sensitive.
Yes, it was my 12th birthday. We did it right. A tradition is a birthday for one is a birthday for all (dog years and all that). Everyone got a new toy.
Since it was MY birthday, I got a moment to myself-and it involved FOOD! I got a bone which I don’t get often and the others were locked out
Even nature cooperated. I’ve been telling you about our monsoons and the lightening. This evening we had a minor show-some lightening, no thunder, no rain but a whole lot of entertainment. Just stick the camera up and do it-if you pan 360, you’ll miss something from where you just left.

That was the bestest firework ever, fabulous colors and no loud noises! Your bone looks tasty…do you need help to eat it… I mean if you have alone to work on that thingy? the lightning at 0:22 looked like the shape of Lord Voldemort lol
The bone was good and it’s gone-no help needed. That was early evening. About midnight another one came through with lightening, thunder and rain but no wind.

Sid did not even react. This is nothing compared to Florida. We loved your presents and hope that you got to enjoy them.
Sid didn’t react because there was no thunder with this display. A perfect light show for him. Around midnight another storm came through that had thunder and Kali had to leave her crate and come on the bed-she was fine then. Kaci and I are old hands at this.
What a nice Celebration you had and everyone got a new special toy because of you.

I got my own bone and was locked in the bedroom until I finished it. Although the others share in the gifts, the birthday girl gets her own bone by herself.

Too late-bone gone. I had it all to myself-They locked me in the bedroom away from the youngsters.
Do you end up giving the toys goofy names? We have Inky the Octopus, Hedgie the hedgehog, Squeaky the Squirrel and on and on. Sometimes I think if a non-dog person ever overheard us talking to Max about his toys they would call a 5150 into the cops so we could be placed in a rubber room.
Not really-with 3 of us terriers, before They can name anything, They call them “garbage” or “dead” and the toys are gone.
OMD we missed your birthday!!! Happy belated 12th birthday Kyla! We are sorry we missed it, but we can tell you had a great day. And a bone all to yourself! Ya can’t beat that for a birthday surprise.

We get pretty spectacular electric storms here in Johannesburg during summer time too – luckily we’re not afraid of all the noise and flashing.
