We woke up this New Years’ Day morning and were treated to snow. No, not in our yard or on our roads but in the mountains. We like it that way-we can see it but don’t have to shovel or drive in it.
that’s the best snow, I think. And I like cacti together with snow, it fits to my worldview. Have a good 2015, I hope we all will have more reasons to laugh this year…
I’m with you Kismet…..snow is fine to LOOK at…..dealing with it is a whole other thing! Happy New Year and here’s to a successful career as spokesbird for your family!
We dodged us a bullet… no freezin’ rain here so Whitley’s Momma and my Daddy (well, he are her actual Daddy) made it to San Antonio fur da bowl game tomorrow– she went to UCLA and is going to see her Bruins….
You gals may not have guessed, but He makes the bucks to pay for my bird food and Kaci and Kali’s dog food by working at sports. He’ll be working in Glendale on Jan 25 and Feb 1. He predicts that the Westwooders win by 7.
Me, I’m a tropical bird. The young dogs were wary of the white flakes that were falling. They’ve been Aroooozonalized. Kali used to look a like like you, but she got a bad haircut. We’ll discipline the groomer. Since 2014 was also a bummer for you, we wtsh you a much better 2015.
Well how about that!! About as rare as snow in Johannesburg, we would say. So Kismet tell us, how is the new gig working out for you? We must say that the transition has been pretty seamless. How is everyone holding up on your side?
BIG licks,
Wally & Sammy
Don’t lick too hard, I’m a small parrot. The blog is a lot of work but as with most things it’s easier as I become more experienced. We’re holding up better than our friends who lost their five year old unexpectedly. We knew it was coming (although we didn’t like it) and pampered Kyla for 3 months. She went out Kyla-style with the Highland Games and she was eating treats at the very last second.
OOOoooooooo! That’s a nice blanket the snow man left for you guys. Very nice. That Kyla was enjoying treats until she passed? That Kyla. What a way to go. Miss her. Now, usually, I say hug your peeps or lick your peeps to show them that I care, but you don’t have four legs to hug. And your beak might be a bit, um, a bit ouchy to smooch with, so here’s my question: what do I say to you my Kismet buddy?
I KNOW! Give the peeps a peck on the cheek from me to them. That’ll do it.
Enjoy that snow. Me? I’ve been regurgitating my green beans today. Too much howliday falderah enjoyment.
The young dogs are upset that they aren’t in control of this blog. They’re not ready yet. I, however, have no preset agenda. I’m just a reporter and will tell the truth-those youngsters will omit certain facts (such as dog poo on the floor). I know all and tell all.Yeah, I do poo on my cage floor, I’ll admit that. I was selected by Kyla and have watched my peep who is in the media report since 2008 when I was born and I replaced Boomerang. I’ll let the youngsters report, but they have a “short leash” That being said, both Kaci and Kali are doing well. It’s not even been a month but they’re really trying to worm their little beings into the peeps’ hearts. Of course Kaci has been here for over 2 years and Kali a week short of one, Kaci really misses Kyla. I’ve been here for a lot longer and can see right through their plan to take over the peeps’ affections. Not to mention that They don’t rub MY belly. I t doesn’t matter that They can’t find MY belly and if They did, I would protest vigorously, it is just unfair. That won’t color my objective reporting. Kyla really did love you and that’s no bull.
Ooooooooo..purty!! I heards you guys were gonna gets snow..it is better when you don’t have to shovel it…so I hear. Ma’s never had to gets her arse out in the snow and shovel a sidewalk! Not even when it DID snow here..it melted too fast.
Well, I hopes you and the four leggers and the peeps are having a great New Years!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Hello! We just found your blog via Frankie and Ernie. Our Jessy human has an Indian Ringneck named Frankie who looks a lot like Kismet. We hope you’ll come visit us at The Daily Bone.
Yeah, trust me, seeing and enjoying snow from afar is a whole lot nicer. Just spent over an hour shoveling the latest snowfall. Maybe someone can remind me why I decided a house on a large corner lot was a good idea because in winter, I sure can’t figure that out! 🙂
My peeps can’t figure out why corner lots are more desirable. You get traffic noise on two sides of the house instead of one and some louts take shortcuts by literally cutting corners.
Happy New Year to you all,xx Speedy
Stay warm and toastie,xx
It’s above freezing at home, so we’re not that cold.
Happy New Year

2014 was a bummer. Here’s to a healthy 2015 for you and Lee.
that’s the best snow, I think. And I like cacti together with snow, it fits to my worldview. Have a good 2015, I hope we all will have more reasons to laugh this year…
You get all the benefits and none of the problems. That works for us.
It’s always beautiful to see too. Sometimes we can see the snow on the eastern sierras. It’s most beautiful. No shoveling for us either.
Have a fabulous day and a very happy, healthy and prosperous new year. 🙂
I thought you were west of the Sierras. I guess it’s that X-ray vision that allows you to see through the mountains.
Happy New Year!!! Your snow looks lovely on the mountains. Hope you all have a fantastic 2015!
You too. 2014 wasn’t so good.
We know, we are hoping for a good 2015 for all of our friends!!!!
I’m with you Kismet…..snow is fine to LOOK at…..dealing with it is a whole other thing! Happy New Year and here’s to a successful career as spokesbird for your family!
Hugs, Sammy
It’s a big responsibility for a small bird.
We saw on the news that it snowed in Arizona and wondered about you. What considerate snow. You can look at it and enjoy it and not have the bother….
It’s perfect. all the benefits and none of the bother.
Here’s hoping 2015 is a better year for all of y’all.
Aroo to you,
Sully
Thanks, it won’t take much.
Got down to 68 last night. Thought I would freeze to death.
That was 68 Celsius, right?
Wow that’s beautiful. Perfect Snow. May 2015 bring you special joy and health to all.
Bentley
That would be nice. Happy New Year to you and yours from K times 3.
I’ve wondered where our snow and winter weather had gone — Now I know! 😉
All the best for the upcoming year!!!
OK, we’ve had enough. It’s time to return it. A good 2015 to all of you.
The best way to see snow is from a distance.
Yeah, that’s what we did. Snow has only stuck here for a couple of hours once in 12 years.
We dodged us a bullet… no freezin’ rain here so Whitley’s Momma and my Daddy (well, he are her actual Daddy) made it to San Antonio fur da bowl game tomorrow– she went to UCLA and is going to see her Bruins….
Hope yer 2015 is better dan yer 2015… ours, too….
HAPPY 2015!!!

Not a flurry a few miles south of you 😦
WIth all those warm bodies at the Ranch, I don’t wonder why.
Wow…. beautiful.

From the summer, it was a complete change.

OH MY! I guess that makes me one of the two leggers the dogs are always wondering about.
Hello! We just found your blog via Frankie and Ernie. Our Jessy human has an Indian Ringneck named Frankie who looks a lot like Kismet. We hope you’ll come visit us at The Daily Bone.
Could you be more specific about “The Daily Bone”, please?
Yeah, trust me, seeing and enjoying snow from afar is a whole lot nicer. Just spent over an hour shoveling the latest snowfall. Maybe someone can remind me why I decided a house on a large corner lot was a good idea because in winter, I sure can’t figure that out! 🙂

Thanks, you would have loved our weather a couple of days ago.
You guys got a lot of snow!
