Don’t worry, this isn’t really a sports story so stay with me here.
For our international readers, baseball is a warm weather sport, played in the spring, summer and early autumn. The 2015 season gets underway on Sunday night with one game and most teams start on Monday. The weather in the month of March improves over most of North America. To get ready for the season, baseball teams train and play games that don’t count in warm weather areas. Half in Florida and the other half right here in Arizona. The Milwaukee Brewers train about 40m (60km) from New River.
This is really a story about a stray dog who wandered into the spring training facility of the Milwaukee Brewers last season.
Here’s the story from a year ago
It’s an Easter feel-good story.
OMD We loved that story….. AND we say…. GO TRIBE !!!!
Too bad every animal can’t be treated like that.
We love the story and mom loves spring training. She would go to the Mets and Braves spring training games with her dad and her husband. Both are gone, but the memories linger on.
Was that when those 2 teams shared Al Lang Field in West Palm Beach?
So ooo oo cute!!
He is. Things turned out well for that pup.
Wish a lot more pups could find such happy furever homes!
The Mad Scots
This guy didn’t just find a home, he found a city.
I saw Hank’s story on television. He sure looks better a year later.
He was definitely one of the lucky ones.
Yep Monday is the big parade for the Cincinnati Reds Opening Game.
Why our whole down dresses in red.
Sweet William The Scot
Marge says “Go for it”.
It’s a fantastic story. Thanks.
Yup, and it’s nice to see one pup hit the Mega-Millions lottery.
That is one lucky doggie! (or, did he make his own luck….☺)
I wish I looked THAT good! BOL just kiddin’…no Ma ~ I DON’T need a bath….
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Ruby, don’t ever mention the “B” word-you might remind them to give you one.
Crikey …… what a great story. Mum LOVES your baseball. She would love to be there to see it live. It’s not very big out here in Australia.
Actually, it is. It’s very popular in the western part of Oz. There are players from Oz who play here in the major leagues. An Australian player used to be a rarity-but not any more. The clubs pull from all over the world and Oz is part of it. They actually played a couple of games last year at Sydney’s cricket grounds that weren’t exhibitions-they counted in the standings.

i always thought Grant Balfour should Americanize his name to Balfor 🙂

Best wishes Molly
We’ll try to have a Fab Friday.
What a fabulous story……Hank certainly was in the right place at the right time. I hope he has a wonderful “forever after” with his team and family!
Hugs, Sammy
I love a true feel good story.
How great, Congratulations Hank. You won not only the dog of the year trophy, you won a furever home too, Pawesome!!!
Kaci and Kali are really miffed that they didn’t win the trophy.
but they won a furever home, the best a little dog could ask for :o)
While not a big baseball fan, I do love happy ending stories and this one warmed my heart. Best wishes for a hoppy Easter. 🙂
Happy Easter to you and yours. I said up front that it really wasn’t a sports story-and it wasn’t. You have to believe the “blue bird of paradise”.
I love a happy ending. A lot.
Have a fabulous day and weekend. 🙂
Happy Easter.
Wow, what a super story! Lucky pooch fur sure and all should have such a happy ending. Gotta love warm Spring weather!
