It’s remodeling time

Either Kali got tired of the arrangement in the run or there’s some critter there. She’s been busy rearranging the furniture (heavy pavers).

SAM_1783He put things back-He liked it the old way. The purpose was to keep critters out. We remember a couple of years ago:

SAM_0015

The fire department had to take away a rattlesnake who took to the run. When He rebuilt the barrier, a small spider quickly fled the run. Really Kali, all that work for a spider? And the dogs have the nerve to call me a bird-brain.

Reminder-if you haven’t entered the contest, you have a little over a day to get your entry in.

About Kismet

I'm a 16 year old Indian Ringneck parrot curmudgeon in New River, Arizona in the wild west country. If you're a sunflower seed, you're dinner.

  1. Yikes on the rattlesnake. We have them here too. I don’t mess with them. They can do whatever they want as long as they stay out of my space.

    Have a terrific day. ☺

    • This one didn’t. That’s why there’s a barrier and chicken wire. We haven’t seen one in there since and both dogs went to “snake school”.

  2. I wouldn’t fly too low with all those snakes around.

  3. Looks like a Goldilocks scenario to me. This paver is too long this way…this one is too short this way…this one is juuuussst r.i.g.h.t. 🙂
Eek on the rattlesnakes-they scare the be-Jesus outa me.

  4. Mom wishes that we had a run. It is too difficult to walk terriers that don’t want to move outside. Sid comes to a screeching halt all of a sudden and mom gets jerked around. She is not happy.

  5. We’re with Kali…..if a critter, no matter how small, invades YOUR territory, you’ve got to move stuff to get it!

  6. Well, we are glad that Kali ROUSTED OUT the …. INVADER…. butt OMD…. what if it had been another Rattling Snake???????????????????? OMD OMD THAT is SCARY… We would not like coming Face to Fang with a Rattling Snake.

  7. I would like a paver driveway when you get that excavation done can you come and start here?
    Sweet William The Scot

  8. I could see da work for a rodent, but a spider are nuffin to get eggcited bout.

  9. I am high PAWing Kali right nows! You gots to do, whats you got to do to gets to the critters!!! We terriers don’t let NOTHIN’ gets in our way, never mind a few tiny pavers! I bets that critter is LONG gone nows! Good work gurl!
Nows, I have been thinkin’ and thinkin’ abouts a clever name for Kismet’s eggs…got nothing. Nothin’ butts the boring. And askin’ Ma is useless! The my-grains have turned her brain to mush (yeah, I knows what you’re thinkin’…it was already half way there….☺)
I can’t waits to see what the winners are!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  10. I hope the heck it isn’t another snake and if it remember your training.

    Aroo to you,
    Sully

  11. Good grief Kali, who knew you had such strength – being a model and all. Now Kismet, did you receive our competition entry, we think we’re on to a winner with the names we chose.
    Wally & Sammy

  12. Gosh that was a whole lotta work for a measly spider! But I’m GLAD it wasn’t a snake this time!!

    Hugs, Sammy

  13. Spiders are serious business.

  14. Spiders can be dangerous too…. my momma went to the ER after I spider tried to eat her with neck and crop :o) I hope you wll have a good summer and the rattlers and spiders find another playground, far away from you…
