This morning we received an email from the rescue group from whom we got Kaci in October 2012. We asked those peeps to keep an eye out for a Scottie and to let us know if they came across one. They did and we got the following:
I just came across this Scottie that the Greendog Foundation has in case you or you know of anyone interested http://www.greendogfoundation.org
Bonnie is looking for a home!
Unfortunately, Bonnie did not work out with her adopters because she just didn’t have the sea legs needed to live on a boat…so Bonnie is once again looking for her forever home! Bonnie is approximately 18 months and is a purebred Scottie Terrier. She gets along great with other dogs, but prefers males as she tends to dominate females. Bonnie is sweet and friendly with everyone she meets and loves car rides and going for walks.

Bonnie is in San Juan Capistrano, California which is South of Los Angeles. Bonnie isn’t in immediate danger otherwise we’d be on the case. We’d love to take her but we have two females. Kaci would probably be OK with her, but not Kali. This is what happened within a week after we got Kali. Kyla and Kali got into it and $400 in vet bills and an injured pup later it was settled. Scotties who need homes are rare in the Western US so this is to let you know that there is one out there. It may be another three years before we hear of another. We would love to see Bonnie go to a blogger so we can keep up with her.
She is a little cutie, sure hope Bonnie will get her forever home soon,xx Speedy
We’ll keep up with it.
Paws crossed Bonnie finds a terrierific fur-ever home. 🙂
We’d take her except for the fact she’d be constantly battling with Kali-two strong willed dominants.
Been there, bought the vet bill. Good luck finding her a worthy home.
We hope that she finds a good home soon. I’ve had two rescue females and they have never been a problem.
Aren’t you forgetting about Sophie? Just kidding.
Fingers, toes and paws crossed that she finds a loving home!
With looks like that, it will be soon.
I hope Bonnie finds a forever home soon. I can see she would not work with you. Wise choice.
Have a fabulous day. ☺
Two headstrong terriers and both wanting to be the boss doesn’t make for a happy home.
Got wish she could get here to us, we would take her in a heart beat. Of course we would need to come up with the $300 rescue fee. We pinch a lot of pennies around here but we have a lot of love.
Ohio has not had any in rescue in a long long time.
You need a Scottie! Maybe one incident was all it took.
Sweet William The Scot
We consider Kali a Scottie. She acts like one including doing the Scottie shuffle. I guess we could get a DNA test, but what would we do with the answer? We’d keep her even if the DNA showed she was a Martian. DNA tests are expensive and we wouldn’t want to take the money away from the bits we give no-kill shelters and rescues.
I did a DNA on SWTS because who I was told the breeder was wasn’t. The person it turned out to be was a Barkery Puppy Mill who had to have through the AKC a number because she had breed her male dog to many times. Well end of story I got her closed down and our DNA test got done free. SWTS has Anstamm Scottie in him. I got a post done all about it and pictures just have never put it up. But you can get a pretty reliable DNA for a reasonable cost.
Lee use to be a transporter of rescue dogs from Ohio into Kenucky even as far as Julip Tennessee. Yet rescues don’t like us because Lee has trained all of her dogs either as visiting companions or reader dogs. We got denied by the Tennessee group for a Scottie.
Gosh wish SWTS could met Bonnie.
SWTS & Lee
I think Bonnie must be adopted already because she is gone from the sight.

I have an email in because I noticed it also. I’ll enlighten everyone when I get a response.
We’re sure she’ll find a home….she’s a scottie, after all. Too bad she doesn’t like girls much. We don’t have many scotties to be rehomed in Australia. They are generally rare and expensive ($1500-$3000), so people tend to THINK before they invest in one.
We have the same problem in Arizona. I don’t even see Scottie pups for sale in the paper but you can get a lot of pitties.
Kimset, what eggsactly are ya tryin to do? First dere wuz da new Scottie puppy down da street, now dis. My momma don’t need no more Puppy Fever™.
Ah, your comment got back from limbo. There’s nothing wrong with puppy fever.
I’m glads it looks like She found a home! yeah, Airedales are rare here too..Ma looked for a long time before she got me from Wisconsin breeder. She’s glad there are not more, obviously, butts when she sees one she wants it! And forgets finding any litters around here! For SOME REASON, we are not very popular….hehehehe (wells, except for those crazy peeps like Ma…)
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
She sounds like a real Aire-head. 🙂
Prayers for Bonnie to find her forever home. It hurts my heart to know she is having to wait for another home. Good luck to her.
Aroo to you,
Sully
I think she’ll be snapped up by Worthless Wednesday.
it’s sad that Bonnie had to go back to the shelter… I hope so much for a super home for a fabulous scottie lady ( she looks a little like Ranger, maybe they are related somehow?) Scotties were very popular a couple of years ago and that sadly led to a lot of homeless scottie pups… I’m glad that this hype is over, but now the jack russel pups and the frenchies have to deal with that dubious honor to be “le dernier cri” :o(
She’s no longer on the web site. I’ve had an email in but no answer yet. It is probable that she’s in a new home right now.
Good luck Bonnie! How is Kaci’s UTI? Hope she’s better!
Kaci is almost out of the woods-the peeps aren’t picking up liquid potty all over.
That’s great! 😀
We are hoping she did find her new forever and ever home…she is beautiful. stella rose and momma
We’re waiting for a reply from the rescue organization. Bonnie isn’t on the available list any more and we’re hoping she went to a good new home.
