Yesterday, the peeps left the three of us alone while They went out to dinner at a friend’s house. When They returned home (get this, without a doggie bag, what’s with that?), They had all kinds of strange smells on Them. It took Kali and me all night to decipher what happened. This must have been better than a dinner with the Keystone Kops.
From what we can tell, one of the other Kops in attendance had a dog, an 8 year old Schnauzer named Satchel after the baseball pitcher Satchel Paige who said a lot of funny things. Apparently, Satchel got along great with the peeps, his smell was all over Them.
Everything was great, but don’t forget OUR peeps were involved. Unexpectedly there was a loud SCREEETCH-the smoke alarm went off. It’s a good thing that Kali wasn’t there and I hate those things. It turned Satchel into a lump of quivering Jell-O and I don’t blame Satchel. It took a while after the noise stopped to get Satchel back to normal.
When They cook at home, Kismet flies and disables all the smoke alarms but rearms them after dinner. My peeps won’t dress up and you can’t take them anywhere without incident. Kismet, Kali and I only keep them around for the comedy show.
If they are going to cheat on you like that they could have at least brought you some turkey. Good grief. I’m on your side with this.
Have a woof woof and tweet tweet day. My best to your cheating peeps. ๐
If we got a doggie bag, we wouldn’t have noticed the smells so much and wouldn’t have pieced it together.
Sam here, Kaci…I hate those cotton pickin’ things too. They scare the Be-Jesus outa me. Sounds like the uprights had a good Thanksgiving anyway. ๐
I would have been under the couch but that’s something you couldn’t do.
“Uprights” … That is so funny ๐ ๐ ๐
Uptights is more like it.
Well, glad ya didn’t have the alarms at yer house-Terrifying those things are!!! I just had my usual yummy dinner, but no turkey scraps. I don’t mind cuz I get meat and veggies fer dinner efurry night๐ ๐ . Ma cheated on me tha other day with the grandpawents Cat! I was Not happy ’bout That!! Have a wonderful weekend at yer K compound๐
You have two-timers also?
What would a little turkey have hurt????
Kismet would be hurt. However it could have been arranged so she didn’t know.
Sounds like a really terrific Thanksgiving spent with friends. Where I went there were fourteen peeps and three dogs. There was ham and turkey. They made an announcement right after the prayer. No dogs fed till the end of the meal and then just a few little bites. Surprisingly all of them sat next to my Lee guess they knew I had her well trained. Lee gave us each four tiny bites of ham and we all waited our turns. But we had a screeching bird bigger than you, Kismet in a cage.
Sweet William The Scot
If you only had ham, the bird wouldn’t be upset.
Everbody knows the Bird is the Word!

Our peeps left us all day too. No doggie bags either. Thankless for all the love and kisses we shower on them. So I chewed up the carpet last night after they let me out of the crate, but just a little. Don’t know why Mom had such a fit. Not like she bought it yesterday. It’s at least 6 months old. Then today they thought we’d cooperate while they tried to take a photo for the Christmas card! Hahaha.
Carpet-that ought to show them big time. Why didn’t we think of that?
My doggie bag had beets in it. Mom didn’t bring any turkey for us.She should have brought the spinach pie back She knows how much we love spinach.
I also smelled green beans on them and WE DIDNโT GET ANY.
Just listen to my story! Mama went across the street to share dinner with neighbors….and my white meat turkey did not arrive until late this afternoon. Here’s the convo…
SB: Mama, willing to forget that two dogs, Maddie & Gabby laid all over you, but where is my Turkey?
Mama: sorry Dude, I will get it tomorrow. I needed to get home to take you out.
WTF?
Um, she forgot what was really important. Next time forget to go out and go on the carpet.
Hmmmmmm…seeing other dogs. That just isn’t right! AND no doggy or parrot bag. Well, we hope that smoke alarm frightened them sufficiently so they don’t want to go out again…for a long time…and abandon their loyal animals.
Not only we were abandoned, we were cheated on. At the least, they could have come home with some bird seed for Kismet.
For those of you wondering, I support Kaci in everything she said. I’m hurt by this.
Hey, me too. It might take a while, but payback time is coming.
LOVE Satchel’s name…so clever! But…no doggy bag? What’s up with that? DakotasDen
And no birdee bag. That proves that They weren’t thinking of us at all.
Uh, yeah, that’s exactly what happened to us too, sorta, kinda … ๐
You’re going to tell me that you got the big SCREEETCH also? Kismet was starting to tell us why until the peeps returned.
No doggie bag?? What da woof??
That’s all right, it was probably burned anyway.
What??! No doggie bag??! No burdie bag??! Okays, now that’s just not right..not right at all! I thinks you guys need to start plotting some kind of revenge….just sayin’
Kisses,
Ruby โฅ
The dogs say that you can make it up to them by sending them both a bota bag of margaritas. While youโre at it send one for me also.
No Doggy snack bag?….the horror of it all!xx Speedy
You have to admit that it was a very selfish thing to not do.
We got home from our trip on Thanksgiving day so MY peeps stayed home and we ALL sat at the table together and had steak and squash. ALL, Kismet. P.S. Sorry you got forgotten…
I thought you would have gone ape over Satchel.
Oh my lordy…..thanks for the laughs. Funny! No smells at my house that day.
You don’t need excitement like that.
We wanted to let you know that Cary Grant, Golden Retriever brother of Ainsley McKenna and Angus Fala (RB) succumbed to mitral valve stenosis. He went into heart failure, went to ER and had four more days. Thankfully he did come home before leaving for the RB. He was only nine weeks old.
9 weeks? That’s awful. Ainsley, be strong.
THANKS for letting us know about Cary Grant — We are/were FB friends with Angus Fala, but hadn’t seen the story about this most beautiful pup. We are heartbroken for them, and hope they find comfort and peace in knowing they did all they could for Cary Grant, and that his loss is being shared by so many like you and I.
I thought you’d help that household right now and I think you have.
Those hapless peeps! They’re lucky Kismet is a pro at the alarm system ๐
I can’t stand the screech myself.
