Bandit’s peeps and Kali, Kismet, and my peeps are family. Bandit went to the bridge yesterday. I’m writing this post because I met Bandit but Kismet and Kali did not. Bandit was born May 20, 2001 and was a very cute doxie puppy
I got to meet Bandit when Kyla and I accompanied the peeps on the long car trip to Montana in 2013.
When Kyla went to the bridge late 2014, it was a double whammy. Bandit was diagnosed with cancer. He survived with chemo until yesterday. Bandit is survived by his doxie brother, Digger. Bandit’s peeps and Digger didn’t have a blog but followed this one. I asked his peeps if they wanted to say something and they did:
Bandit was a fighter. Strongest dog ever. 26 month cancer survivor. He loved adventures. He loved his toys and would steal new ones from his brother. He fought till the very end. Loved car rides in my lap. He was very quick with the kisses and loves and snuggles. Loved to open presents. He would also sing for the “Niners” for Misty. He loved to sing Sugarland’s “All I want to do” with Cindy. He was also my protector. He was too smart for his own good. He had hops, he could grab a pizza box off the counter. He hated wearing clothes. My brother made a great pillow. He also loved curling up to the fireplace on a cold night. Finally, he LOVED laying in the sun as it came thru the windows and followed it around the house.
You can edit these as you like. But this was Bandit!!!
No editing necessary. Run Free, Bandit. Find Kenzie and Kyla. We love you all.
I am sooo deeply, deeply sorry. What a precious baby he was. Sending gentle (((hugs))) to all of you. DakotasDen
Your comments will be seen by Digger and his peeps in Oregon.
I’m so, so sorry. It’s so hard to lose our babies. I know this pain and I’m sending healing hugs to all those affected. So very sad. 😦
We know-you still miss Little Bit a lot.
Oh Kismet we are so very sorry. Bandit was for sure a fighter. May the warm breezes be at his back as he romps pain free.
We posted on POTP for you too.
hugs madi and Mom
Thanks!
We are sorry for your loss. These are hard times when the Bridge calls. But you should know that Bandit is in the best company of those who we also miss. He was a cutie!!!
We knew the day would come but it doesn’t make it any easier.
So sorry.
Speaking for his peeps (and not just parroting), thanks.
Nicely said, Kismet.
Bandit
May the blessing of light be on you – light without and light within.
May the blessing of the Earth rest so lightly over you that your soul may be out from under it quickly; up and off and on its way to God.
Lee’s Dad had a doxie that lived to be nineteen years. Always trashed everything, even tore out his teeth tearing up the stair treads.
Sweet William The Scot
That’s dedication.
I am so very sorry to hear this – what a tiny little ray of strength and hope he was. Here’s for many memories that remain.
He was his peeps’ heart dog.
We are all sorry for the loss of Bandit. it is very hard to lose a family member, so we send a warm hug for all.
Thanks.
Oh, I am so sorry you’ve lost a beloved furry one. I know you are hurting so very much and you will have lots of fond memories. Sending you lots of warm hugs and vibes.
Sarge and staff
Thanks, we got them.
This hits too close to home My tears for all who loved Bandit. If only they could be with us “in the furs” until it was time to leave this earthly realm with us.
It’s not a perfect world. If it were, everyone would live forever-and have feathers.
OH MY DOG… BANDIT was a GORGEOUS Dachshund. We are SO SORRY that he lost that HARD FOUGHT FIGHT. Sending his family GENTLE HUGS and the knowledge that Bandit is now Running Free and Fast with our other furends who are … OVER THERE.
Recently, too many of our friends are moving over there.
It’s always hard when a fellow Dachshund leaves the world….but I do know Bandit made the world a better place and is not in a place with no pain and in a place where he is with the Lord. Fly high, sweet Bandit.
I’ve heard that his household isn’t a happy place tonight.
I am so sad for your loss of a friend. It gets more and more difficult everyday to see friends departing for the bridge. We are so glad that his family had an extra couple of years after a diagnosis of cancer. RIP Bandit.
That “C” is a tough opponent and plays for keeps.
Oh noes. I’m so sorry. Bandit was one good lookin’ dude, and sounds like a really amazin’ puppers. Tell his family we are all thinking of them and sendin’ lots of POTP and {{{hugs}}}. May the tears that flow now, be replaced by smiles and laughter when you remember your sweet Bandit.
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
I’m certain that his peeps will read this.
My deepest sympathy to all who knew and loved Bandit. We also lost a Doxie to cancer back in 2003 after a 9-month battle. Our Tiffany also had chemo and radiation treatments and it gave her a good quality of life for 9 months. It’s just never easy to say goodbye.
It’s hard to say goodbye but when there’s never going to be an improvement and the quality of life isn’t there, you have to admit defeat to the “C”.
So sorry for your loss of bandet. Looks like bandet was loved. Its hard to loose a family pet and our hearts go out to your family’s.

You’re still hurting yourself.
This is Bandit’s peeps! We just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your kind words and prayers. Bandit was an amazing pup who had many many people that loved him and missed him. This is an incredibly hard time for us. Thank you again for everything!
We are so very sorry to read about Bandit. Huge hugs to his peeps♥
You hugged them yourselves. They’re reading.
Little Bandit was an adorable pupster and clearly will be missed by all those who knew him. So sorry. 💔 We pray tender memories will help cushion the loss.
They got extra time because of treatment but it still hurts.
I didn’t know Bandit, but he was beautiful and his story is filled with love – given and received. Prayers for his family and friends to recover from this sad loss. Stay brave, little buddy. RIP.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Yup, battling the evil “C” takes a lot of guts.
We are so sorry for your loss. Bandit sounded like a wonderful doxie boy.*ear licks*
He was at that. His peep misses him a lot.
Thank-you for sharing Bandit with us, I’m just sorry I/we didn’t get the chance to know him better! His battling that horrible and terrible “c” monster takes a lot of courage and shows how tenacious and brave he was – I know it’s not easy, and there is no doubt that his good fight is also a true tribute to his family (and vets too) for their great love and care! I so hope all are finding comfort in the memories of this most special boy that can never be taken away, and in knowing that there is lots of new fun and mischief at the Rainbow Bridge as he and Kyla are reunited and their friendship continues. Again, I am so sorry!!
You’ve had a lot experience with this. It still hurts every time.
I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved Bandit. Come to bring Soft Pawkisses to comfort you. Fly Free beautiful boy ❤ ❤ ❤
Thank you!
So sorry for your loss. Please send our luvs to his family during this sad time.
Marty, Mom and the Gang
The past few months have been dreadful for this.
Sadly so. Almost dread getting on the computer 😦
I am so, so sorry for this precious loss. Too much cancer in the world. That sweet little doxie.
I’d like to make cancer an endangered species.
We are so sorry.
Monty, Harlow, and Ramble
Thanks.
I’m so sorry to read you lost your lovable Bandit. He looked so cute in those pictures. Sending a big hug.
He was. His mom gave him a lot of hugs.
What a handsome man. We’re so very sorry he had to leave for the Bridge. Our hearts are with you all.
Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
Thank you. The best to you.
What a sad introduction to your blog. My heart goes out to you and his Oregon peeps. I have family waiting on Rainbow Bridge as well – including a Shih Tzu named Bandit – and I remember each and every day that marked the last day I hugged their little bodies with a heavy sadness. I am so very sorry that you are feeling that way now.

Can you do birds?
I had a parakeet as a kid that didn’t seem to cause trouble, but not since, so I am not sure. Why?

I’m a parrot and some peeps don’t like birds.
Well HEY there Kismet! I love birds – especially parrots – and my bloggin’ Shih Tzu TinkerToy is always looking to add to his fur and feather set. Can you talk?
If there are articles from or about YOU over here, wander over to leave him a calling card – a link to one of them – in the comment section of his Party post (or any of his other Guest-blogs).

Oh my, Kismet, we’ve only just wrenched the computer away from Mama, to find this very sad article about your beloved friend. We know we’re late in sending sympathies to Bandit’s family, but we are all thinking about him now xxxx
You know how it feels.
It’s late but sorry for your loss 😦
