Different strokes for different folks

The weather is getting warmer in Arizona.  Different species of wildlife cope in different ways. Here’s a scene from our front window.

You have to look carefully but there’s a lizard on a rock on the left (the tail is really visible) who is sunning him/her self and enjoying the weather. There’s a rabbit on the right who is in the shade and over a wet spot where the drip system emits cool water. It’s doggie TV for Kaci and Kali. As a bonus, there are no ads.

About Kismet

I'm a 16 year old Indian Ringneck parrot curmudgeon in New River, Arizona in the wild west country. If you're a sunflower seed, you're dinner.

  1. Wow, can’t believe both of them stayed while you shot that image! Nice work.

  2. you only need a weed smoking carterpillar, then you can watch a movie A-liz-(ard) in wonderland :o)

  3. Who would have thought a lizard and a rabbit in the same pic ~ maybe the heat has gotten to them ~ or opposites attract.
    Sweet William The Scot

  4. I see them both and I get the television part. I can remember Little Bit watching various critters over the years. Very exciting stuff. For them.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  5. Great photo! I love the desert…….first place we visited when we had a vacation in Phoenix some years ago was the botanical gardens….I just had never seen so many of those plants anywhere else.

    Pam (and Teddy)

  6. Very cool….our bunch only gets to observe squirrels, bunnies and the occasional raccoon. Although an occasional horse and rider come down the street and they freak out.

  7. That my friends is an awesome view, it has all the makings for extreme barking.

    Aroo to you,

Ah yes, the annual change from melt-your-shoes hot to melt-your-face-off hot. When the rattlers come out to eat bunnies under the ocotillo. 🙂

  9. You think that is strange when I share my garden with a Hedgehog?hehehe,xx Speedy

  10. What a great view and so different from ours. We live in such a diverse country – a bit of something for every taste.

  11. Must drive the dogs nuts….two great things to chase and they’re WATCHING! Amazing how animals find the most comfortable place no matter the weather. We had to get out our little heaters last night for the first time in months….(The dogs jockeying for the prime warm position.)

  12. That is some pretty great dog TV! Stay cool dear ones!

  13. Shelby and Sidney got to see two doves up close and personal. They were sitting in front of the d screen door when we went out for a pee break. I thought that the birds would have a heart attack. The Scotties were not nice. The hummingbirds have been attacking. There must be a nest close to the house. Wild Kingdom in real life

  14. I wish I have doggie tv over here too :/
