Well, I did lay my second egg of the season but it won’t hatch either because there’s no male. All the other birds are busy with kids and I don’t have any. Look at this:

I’ve been told that the young roadrunners are the fastest, even faster than their parents because the young ones can’t read yet and that includes the speed limit signs.

Gosh Kismet…..I hope you’re not sad about NOT having a baby to take care of – my Mom and Dad never had kids either except for me and Angel Sammy and the others before us……..at least you can peek out the window and see other birds. Besides, if you had babies to take care of, who would RULE the household like you are now?????

I always figured they were so fast because the desert sand was so hot. They can’t say “ooh, ooh, hot, hot,” just dashing hither and fro. Sorry there’s no one to ‘help’ you with the eggs. Maybe it’s a blessing to not have to deal with baby birds running around.?
