Wise up, peeps

We birds get blamed for a lot. Here’s a local example. We have a lot of oranges on our bush. They’ve been orange for a month.  We’re talking about a couple of hundred of them.

The peeps went out to pick some for themselves. We birds got there first.

The peeps blame woodpeckers who are just trying to make  a living. Nice try, peeps. Next time harvest in February. We birds have a saying,

“The early peep gets the fruit’.

  1. your peeps should be gratefull.. the berds peeled the oranges for them and they haven’t to waste time with that boring orange peeling…

  2. Yep, I’ll have to agree. They were there for the taking and they got there first. It’s not the birds fault.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

  3. Those birds sure do know how to carve out an orange. Maybe they used the pulp for orange juice.

  4. I’ve never seen anything like this. I guess if the peeps want the oranges to be all theirs, they will have to build a really big green house. Or orange house.

  5. It’s all fun and games until there is a mimosa shortage. Then the bird purge begins.

  6. there ya go, you tell ’em!!!!!

  7. We feel your pain. We have a macadamia tree for over 28 years. The tree has nuts every year. The harvest has been about 10 actual nuts over this period of time. The nuts have a double very hard shell. I need a sleigh hammer to break them open. They are empty. The birds get to them and steal the nuts with no problem. BUMMER
