I watch Thorn Birds whenever it is on TV. It is an all time favorite. I must be ancient too and proud of it. I’m having my hip replaced on Tuesday and part of me will be less ancient.
Oh yes, The Thornbirds. I read the novel many, many years ago. All I remember is that it featured a priest. Hmmm. No way am I reading it again; I don’t remember it being all that good the first time! I like your version much better!
Ma remembers Gma watchin’ that Thornburds movie! She just remembers that she couldn’t watch what she wanted (there were like only 3 channels back then! BOL!), so she skateboarded a LOT that week!
Abouts that burd, I hope it’s not skewered to that cactus! ouch!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Did it impales itself upon the longest, sharpest thorn? The legend says only a true thorn bird does so “For the best is only bought at the cost of great pain… Or so says the legend.” It is a Fake Thorn Bird ~ Fake News ~ Fake Fake Fake!

Your peeps are just too funny. You thought you were that close to meeting a celebrity bird. This is great. Thanks for the share. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
While my peeps ARE rahter ancient, they would not deem to sit upon a catusof any kind!
Anfd while we don’t know what pawppy knows of the Thorny birdies, petcretary ony recognzes the name, she never saw any of the movie not the tv show. There was a movie, right? Um…we don’t know, we are clueless!
It’s sitting on top of a giant thorn, so it must be a thorn bird flown over from the land down under. Xox Xena and Lucy
That would be a long flight, even for a bird. Maybe it took Qantas?
Good heavens, Bird Friend. The Thorn Birds mini series was in 1983. That’s 36 years ago. Your peeps are ancient.

I am a card carrying member.
I showed this to my peep and got the comment “tell that young whippersnapper canine to respect his elders, by cracky’
And we’ll get off your lawn, er rocks, too.
We think your peep is funny too 😉
Mum remembers the Thorn Birds 😉 MOL!

Yeah, my peep is funny-looking.
Maybe it is stuck there with a thorn… Yep Thorn Birds remembered here, too.
It wasn’t stuck, it left for the sunflower patch to steal my food.

It should have featured a parrot and it would have been better; not only that, parrots fare well in the test of time.

The bird was fine. It flew away and lives to thorn again another day.
I think it’s a burd-kabob…..skewered and roasting in the sun.
Thornless Hugs, Teddy
Stay away from us birds and go back to your bacon.

I’m the only legend around here.
Let your silly humans dream their dreams, Kismet. They know you’re the only smart one in the family.
Have a birdtastic day. My best to your humans. ♥
They’re smart enough to know that I’m smarter than they.
You probably wouldn’t be able to tell by the temperatures. Perhaps you have a wild admirer, Kismet.
That would be FANTASTIC
that is too funny!!! One of my Mom’s favorite series was “The Thornbirds” lol
I’m a fan of anyone who is a fan of birds.

Big Bird is still on my bucket list.

It is a book and also a 2011 TV mini-series.
She is remembered and treasured, and I’ve a feeling, not that far away.
