Usually we birds build our nests high up so nobody bothers us. But this dove decided to build it in our driveway and on a car.
I flew over to see what was happening. She said “not so close, I’m social distancing, please stay six feet or two meters away”. I agreed so I asked questions from the roof of the car. I asked why she picked a car and she said that because it isn’t going anywhere for a while and it is safe. “Good idea”, I told her. “I won’t let anyone disturb you or your young when they’re hatched. The peeps wouldn’t bother you anyway”. She thanked me and said “I’m glad for the new virus-I’m tired of being blamed for the bird flu”. I can only add “Amen, sister-me too”.
…and then she pooped on the windshield as birds are known to do…š
You should know by now that there’s not much normal around here.
Just the way we like it!
What a funny bird! We saw about a hundred cockatoos this morning….and they were NOT social distancing. We think the farmer had seeded his ground and they were eating the seeds.
It must have been sunflower seeds-and nobody invited me???? SQUAAAAAAAWK
Wells, let’s hope it doesn’t rain anytime soon. Our doves prefer Ma’s fern (which they killed btw….) under the patio. The babies already left the nest, so maybe you should tells her there’s a vacancy here! it’s at least 6ft. away from anyone
Keep the peeps safe!
Kisses,

The “babies” are probably eggs. We haven’t seen her leave but Dad is around, usually on the top of the house with a watchful eye.
At least the wild life can have a rest from humans now,xx Speedy
It depends on which human.
she car-es for her eggs ;O)
That’s something a Weim can’t do.
Last spring a bird picked a wreath on my front door to build her nest in. I didn’t know it was there until I closed the door hard and the whole nest went, along with lots of tiny broken eggs.
That will teach you not to leave your Christmas decorations up too long.
Ha, ha, it was a spring wreath!
Bwahahahahahahaha. I linked this post to Happy Tuesday.
Have a birdtastic day, Kismet. My best to your mom. ā„
Where on the water are you?
We’re staying home as we should. We’re old and don’t need to be out and about. š
My birds have all flown the coop. The bird houses are empty and they are silent in the morning.
Sweet William The Scot
Many read “Silent Spring” but you’re living it.
Wow, that’s quite remarkable. Usually birds just want to drop a mess to two, not a whole house, on cars. š Stay safe.
Do you know to whom you’re talking?
š
Hope you have another car
If we didn’t, we’d get one.
There was a wren nest in an old paint can here once…petcretary stooped to clean it up, and nearly jumped 6 feet when the momma wren flew out of the can…thankfully the nest had no inhabitants at the time…
You might have to have a discussion wiff her about pooping on windshields.
Wags,
Ranger
