The New Kid in Town

Those of you who have been with us for a while remember Lilly, the rescue greyhound next door.

Unfortunately, Lilly had to go to the bridge recently. We miss Lilly and her peeps miss her most of all. Well, it was time to get another pup and meet Oreo!

Yes, we know there’s already an Oreo around but the name is good enough for 2 dogs to own it. Oreo answers to her name and there’s no sense changing it. She’s a former racer and is 3½ years old.

About Kismet

I'm a 16 year old Indian Ringneck parrot curmudgeon in New River, Arizona in the wild west country. If you're a sunflower seed, you're dinner.

  1. I love her snazzy purple shoes!!
RIP Lilly. I always hate to hear such news.😔

  2. It’s so hard to have them leave us. I’m happy they have a new baby to love. And you do too.

    Have a terrific day. ☺

  3. We think Oreo has found the perfect place to retire! We look forward to hearing about her adventures, and we know she’ll fill some of the hole in the hearts of her peeps that Lily left.

  4. Hi Oreo….nice name. Love your shoes.

  5. The ONLY thingy Better than ONE Oreo… is TWO of them. We are sorry for why Oreo came to your neighborhood… BUTT very happy fur her… to have a home where she will NEVER AGAIN be put on the Race Track.

Now then… KISMET… isn’t it getting close to time fur you to start to FEATHER another NEST? We remember when you did it Last time… and we found it quite exciting, actually. Maybe your peeps could Rob some local nests and you could raise a Brood or a Clutch or whatEVER you would call them.

  6. Ya can never have too many Oreos.

  7. Retired at three and a half and to New River, Arizona why that is living the life of Riley. Does she use malapropisms especially with humorous results. I think perhaps having purple shoes shows that.
    Sweet William The Scot

    Kisses,

  20. You should have a welcome party!

  21. Oreo is GAWGEOUS!!!! I currently have 8 ex racing greys who are my beloved pets, I used to train them years ago and when they finished racing I retired from training 🙂 just to be able to spend all my time cuddling them! Although they loved racing and wish they were younger so they could hit the track again haha. My oldest grey celebrated her 13th birthday just last weekend. My other grey will celebrate her 11th birthday this November, God willing. She wasn’t given a good prognosis by the vets 2 months ago as she developed severe diabetes mellitus but the 12 hourly insulin injections I have to give her permanently, is really helping her so far so good.

  22. Sorry I have 7 now, as I lost my beloved Foxy (nearly 11 years old) 2 months ago to a mass in her lung caused fluid buildup in all her organs 😦 she was sent home with me from the vets on painkillers via attached i.v drip so she could die peacefully on her bed at home. she is now buried under her favourite tree in my paddock.
